A modern grid is the foundation for reliable, affordable electricity. As part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s Powering America Roadshow, Assistant Secretary Jereza visited Burbank Water & Power to see how the Burbank Grid Forward project is strengthening the infrastructure that powers the community every day. Supported by nearly $5 million from DOE’s Office of Electricity, the project will modernize approximately 30 circuit miles of BWP’s electric system—helping the utility operate more efficiently, reduce future maintenance needs, and deliver more reliable service while supporting affordability for customers. Strategic investments in essential infrastructure are helping build a stronger, more efficient electric grid one community at a time.
