After years in security, Mayur Pipaliya got into Teleport and had one reaction: "Where was this all these years." You don't just evaluate it and move on. You wonder how you ever operated without it.

Passwords alone are no longer enough. As cyber threats become more sophisticated, organisations are accelerating the shift towards passkeys, phishing-resistant authentication and passwordless security strategies. Featuring insights from Ev Kontsevoy, CEO at Teleport, alongside experts from Yubico and Sophos, this article explores why the future of cybersecurity is moving beyond traditional passwords. Denver to Seattle in one week — great conversations at both. The industry is moving from "how do we manage credentials better" to "how do we get rid of them entirely." Good to see it. Thanks to everyone who came by. #CybersecuritySummit #FutureConSeattle

Ev Kontsevoy asks every tech executive the same question. For most, it takes days to answer. Sometimes weeks. Most organizations have more roles than they have employees. He has a very clear view on why that model collapses entirely once AI agents enter the picture.

The reaction Gus hears most often after a Teleport demo: "My engineers are going to love this. My security folks aren't going to believe this." Gus Luxton on why that moment still gets him out of bed in the morning.

80% of organizations still rely heavily on static long-lived credentials. Their security incident rate is 20 points higher than those who have evolved. May the 4th seemed like the right day to share something I've been working on. A guide at Teleport on unifying identity across multi-cloud and data center infrastructure: 5 practices and strategies to replace credential sprawl with one source of trust. Whether this catches you on May the 4th or beyond: May the Force of Trust and IP be with you! 🌌 Full guide in the comments. #MayThe4th #InfrastructureIdentity #SPIFFE #DevEx #PlatformEngineering

Most sales leaders manage by dashboard. John Solazzo manages by presence. He's on the calls, in the deals, and coaching by example. As Teleport's Senior Sales Director for mid-market, John has a philosophy that runs counter to most of what you hear in enterprise sales: "We major in business and minor in sales. Be a business person first and a sales person second." And: "It's never wrong to set a customer's expectations correctly, even when that means the answer is no." Worth a read if you're thinking about your next move in sales. https://lnkd.in/gKr7SDP8

We're heading to Identiverse for the first time — June 15-18 in Las Vegas. The identity community has been at this for decades, and yet for most teams, identity is still fragmented across humans, machines, workloads, and AI agents. No unified view. No single control plane. Lots of blind spots. We've spent years building toward a different architecture. Come find us at Booth #745 and let's talk through it. #Identiverse

Ev Kontsevoy remembers the exact Tuesday that COVID hit and the pipeline for Gravity — Teleport's original product, a SaaS deployment tool at around $4M ARR — went quiet overnight. No leads, no sales calls, nothing. But something else was happening at the same time. Engineers suddenly working from home needed secure remote infrastructure access, and Teleport, which had been a free open source tool used as a lead magnet for Gravity, solved exactly that. Inbound demand took off. Within months it was clear: the lead magnet was the real product. Gravity wound down. The company rebranded as Teleport and didn't look back. What's interesting now is that the same dynamic is playing out again with AI. Because Teleport was built to manage all identity types in one layer — not just humans but machines, workloads, and environments — it was already ready for AI agents before the question was even being asked. Ev calls it COVID 2.0, and it's driving a second wave of growth the team didn't have to build toward. The architecture was just already there.
