Jordan Grotzinger and Andrea Carmona appeared on CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper. “Injustice System: Re-examining the murder case of Pierre Rushing” is about the wrongful conviction of an aspiring rapper from Oakland, Calif., who has spent the last 15 years of his life in prison. GT is handling Pierre Rushing’s case on a pro bono basis. The CNN segment examines serious questions surrounding Pierre Rushing’s original conviction, including key evidence which was withheld from his defense team in violation of the Brady disclosure rule, which requires prosecutors to share all material evidence with the defense. Thirteen years after Rushing’s conviction, critical documents that were never provided to his original attorneys were produced for the first time. Compounding concerns about the integrity of the case, the only eyewitness against Pierre Rushing has since recanted his testimony. And multiple people have signed affidavits swearing Pierre Rushing was not at the scene of the crime. Major developments in U.S. trade law are reshaping the tariff landscape for importers. On May 7, 2026, the U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT) ruled that the 10% global tariffs imposed by the Trump administration in late February 2026 under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 are unlawful. However, the CIT limited injunctive relief to plaintiffs found to have standing. Separately, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is actively processing refunds of duties collected under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), with the next update from CBP expected on May 12, 2026. 💡 What does this mean for your business? Whether you are navigating refund eligibility, tracking appeal deadlines, or preparing for potential new Section 301 or 232 measures, the details matter. 🔗Learn more in this #GTAlert by Laura Siegel Rabinowitz and Hugh Smachlo: https://bit.ly/4txUkyb. #Tariffs #IEEPA #InternationalTrade #TradeCompliance #TariffTaskForce

✈️ The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has published a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM), Designation-Restrict the Operation of Unmanned Aircraft in Close Proximity to a Fixed Site Facility (https://bit.ly/4u1AIUb), to enable the establishment of unmanned aircraft or drone no fly zones in proximity to certain critical infrastructure and mass gathering sites on May 6, 2026. This NPRM affects drone operators, businesses that rely on drones, and the owners of the roughly 125,000 facilities that may be eligible to apply for flight restrictions, all of whom would need to understand the new rules to stay compliant or protect their interests. The rise of self-driving cars has fundamentally disrupted traditional notions of fault in traffic incidents. Where once the actions of human drivers determined liability, today the “driver” is often software, sensors, and algorithms. As deployments expand in cities like Los Angeles, Miami, Phoenix, and San Francisco, courts, regulators, and insurers grapple with assigning responsibility when a self-driving car crashes or commits a traffic violation. Absent a comprehensive federal liability statute, the default remains patchwork state law and conventional tort theories. This #GTAdvisory written by J. Andrew (Drew) Schaffer, Jake Evans, and Evan Holden examines the core legal issues, recent developments, and the potential path forward in self-driving liability, federal and state regulation, insurance coverage, and the evolving legal standards governing self-driving cars and corporate accountability. 🔗 You can read the advisory here: https://bit.ly/4fc9pBH. #ProductsLiability #MassTorts #Litigation #CommercialLitigation

The SEC just proposed one of the most significant potential changes to U.S. public company reporting in over 50 years. On May 5, 2026, the Commission proposed rulemaking (https://bit.ly/4u1lleo) that would allow domestic public companies to replace their three quarterly Form 10-Q filings with one semiannual Form 10-S. As proposed, the new framework would be voluntary - but the potential implications for capital markets transactions, market expectations and investor relations and engagement, trading policies, and financing arrangements, among others, could be far-reaching. Our team has broken down the proposed rules and key takeaways companies should be evaluating right now. Read the full #GTAlert by Drew Altman, Raffael Fiumara, Sami Ghneim, and Win Rutherfurd here: https://bit.ly/4fb17tT. *Special thanks to Angel A.
