  • Out in the mountains for a quick hike wearing the Hetzner rain jacket. 🌿🏔️ ´Cause reliability doesn’t stop at the office door. Whether it’s systems, services, or just gear that holds up when the weather changes, things should simply work when you need them.

  • TL;DR Get your insights first hand from one of our apprentices at Hetzner in Gunzenhausen! Greetings, my name is David. 🙋🏻♂️ I started my apprenticeship as an application developer in the KonsoleH department at Hetzner on September 1, 2025. As someone who shares the same birthplace as Hetzner — Gunzenhausen — working here one day has always been a goal of mine. What I appreciate most about working at Hetzner is the general workplace mentality: a consistent focus on improvement and delivering reliable services and products every day. Personally, I enjoy solving problems, implementing solutions, and growing my coding and technical skills. 💻 Working with my colleagues has also been great — everyone is friendly, open, and willing to help. The biggest highlight for me is how much there is to learn. This was honestly the main thing I was looking forward to when I applied. Through the rotation model, trainees get to experience a wide range of departments across the company. Seeing the different IT departments alone — given how vast the field is — has already taught me a lot, and I know there is still much more to come. As I’m writing this, I’m currently in the marketing rotation — which is a good example of that. At Hetzner, learning and doing new things is genuinely encouraged. Challenging yourself to step outside your comfort zone is not just good for your professional growth, but for your personal development too. On my very first day here, for instance, I took part in a photoshoot for our internal merchandise shop — something completely new to me. 📸 I also got to dabble in some video editing for our tutorial series, a skill I had never touched before and was now able to explore. So if you’re looking to start your career, are interested in tech, and enjoy learning new things, feel free to apply. We’d be happy to welcome you to the team!

  • Self-hosting rarely starts with expertise. It starts with curiosity. You don't need a perfect setup or years of experience, and you certainly don't need to migrate everything at once. Most journeys start small: one server, one application, one thing you want to run on your own terms. The tooling, documentation, and community have come a long way. Taking ownership of your infrastructure is more accessible than ever, you just need to know where to start first. That's why we put together these 7 practical tips. For a closer look at each one, check out htznr.li/sh2_ld 🫡

  • Your server, your rules. Tooling has caught up & self-hosting isn’t niche anymore. Running your own infrastructure now means: • control over how things are built, deployed, and scaled • ownership of your data and runtime, end to end • monthly capped costs It comes with more responsibility, sure. But also real transparency, independence, and a stack that answers to you. Platforms like Coolify show how far things have come: builds, deployments, environments, and rollbacks, all self-hosted, all yours. Getting started is easier than ever. Spin up Coolify on a Hetzner Cloud VPS with our one-click app, and you’ll have a running deployment platform in minutes. That’s what we call sovereignty. Spin up Coolify on our cloud in a few clicks! We put the bits here if anyone wants to dig: https://htznr.li/sh_ld
