  • On July 23rd, join Mozilla Ventures and ImpactVC for Trustworthy AI: The Opportunity for VCs. As AI adoption accelerates, building systems that are trustworthy by design has never been more important. We’ll explore what trustworthy AI means in practice, why it matters across the AI ecosystem, and how investing in better AI can create both positive impact and long-term commercial value. We’re excited to be joined by Navrina Singh, Founder & CEO of Credo AI and a global leader in AI governance and policy. Register here: https://luma.com/iesri40i We hope to see you there!

  • Excited to see what the future holds for Telepath. Looking forward to following the journey!

My startup Telepath just announced our first product: Television. It's the missing GUI for personal agents. Today’s agent harnesses like OpenClaw, Hermes, Claude Code, and Codex are the first glimmers of a new kind of personal computer. But for all their power, their chat-based interfaces leave users stuck in the MS-DOS era. So we created Television. It works with any agent harness and gives you virtual screens on which you and your agent can create and work with visual HTML artifacts. Television is a first step towards our vision of a computing experience freed from the constraints of traditional software. We're accepting alpha users now, open source coming soon. Visit https://television.run to join the wait list.

  • As AI reshapes the internet, trust & safety can no longer be treated as a back-office function. Cinder is building critical infrastructure to help platforms defend against abuse, fraud, manipulation, and emerging AI-powered threats at scale. Their mission aligns closely with our belief that the future of AI must be more trustworthy, accountable, and human-centered. Congrats to Glen Wise and the entire Cinder team on this milestone — we’re proud to support the work of making the internet safer for everyone.

🚨 Update 🚨 Cinder raised $41M in Series B funding, led by Radical Ventures, with continued participation from Accel and Y Combinator. AI is already supercharging the efforts of bad actors to attack real people every day. We started Cinder to make sure the people defending the internet have more firepower than the people attacking it. This funding means doubling down on what we can do for our customers, deploying AI agents at scale, and hiring people who want to do the most important work of their careers. The internet has always been abused. AI is making it worse. Cinder builds the infrastructure to fight back.

  • Era is building the intelligence layer for a new ecosystem of AI devices — giving designers, developers, and creators the tools to build objects that think, respond, and act with intention and individuality. We believe the future of technology should be more open, expressive, and human — not one-size-fits-all. Era’s approach puts powerful creation tools into more hands, unlocking a new wave of innovation from people who haven’t historically had access to build in this space. This is the kind of future we want to help shape. We’re proud to support the Era team as they build what comes next.

Today we're launching Era and announcing $11M in funding. We're building the intelligence layer for a new ecosystem of AI devices — the platform that lets any device manufacturer, brand, designer, or creator make objects that think, respond, and act in their own style. We're entering a Cambrian explosion of devices. New form factors, new creators, new objects worth desiring. Made by people who've never had the tools to make them… before today. At Humane, OpenAI, Apple, and HP, we worked on some of the most ambitious devices in the world alongside people we deeply admire. We learned more than we can say. The one-size-fits-all device era — where technology is built for everyone and no one — is ending. Same forms, same colors, same default voices, same few players. A generational shift is underway, one where intelligent objects feel deliberately crafted to fit the exact contours of a life: its quirks, contradictions, style, and specificities that are unique to you. Making an intelligent object should be as simple as describing what you want it to do. That's the future we're building — for designers, brands, makers, and anyone with a point of view. You don't build a new Era alone. You build it alongside others, with a community eager to shape what comes next. I bonded with Alexander Ollman over an 8 hour geek out at the computer history museum, which turned into a shared obsession - and a rapidly expanding collection of 100+ expressive consumer electronics. Megan Gole and I bonded over a shared love of making devices that are as expressive and fashionable as life itself. Our team comes from Princeton University, Harvard University, CMU, Parsons, and The Australian National University. We are designers, engineers, and tinkerers who fell in love with technology as 2000s kids. What holds us together is a shared belief that the future can feel so much more expansive than the present. We quietly launched the way we believe technology should be made: by putting the tools in other people's hands. Thirty of our creative friends built their own intelligent objects on our platform. More on that next week 🌱 The first Era-powered product drops in May. Thank you Ivan Mehta at TechCrunch for covering our raise! We're deeply grateful to our investors — Casey Caruso, Hunter Harloff at Topology Ventures, John Borthwick, Jordan Crook at betaworks, Nicole Ripka at AIR (Collab Fund) who backed us as we were just getting started, and Andrei Kozyrev, Ramtin N. at Abstract, David Tisch, Claire Smilow, Adina Davis at BoxGroup, Adam Mullinax, Saayeli Mukherji Bruni, Mohamed Nanabhay at Mozilla Ventures, and Collaborative Fund at the seed — for believing in us. And to our angels — Caterina Fake, Ken Kocienda, Bill Shope, CFA, josé benitez cong, Kerry Whorton Cooper, Tony Wang, Mina Fahmi, Weber W., David Rosenberg, Jonathan Levine, and many more (in comments) — thank you for being our friends and co-world builders. Welcome to the new Era.

  • We are proud to back and support Musubi in their work and the impact it continues to have. As a fast-growing social platform, Bluesky faces an increasingly complex challenge: success attracts sophisticated fraud and abuse at scale. Addressing that challenge requires systems that can adapt just as quickly as the threats themselves. Musubi supports this effort through AI that continuously evolves in response to new patterns, making thousands of daily adjustments while remaining closely aligned with the policies set by Bluesky’s expert moderators. This combination of automation and human oversight enables both speed and precision. T he results speak to that collaboration. Achieving 99.8% precision on a daily basis reflects not only technical performance, but also the strength of alignment between the two teams and a shared commitment to user safety. For a closer look at how the system works in practice, the full case study is available here: https://lnkd.in/gVVw9eSm

It's been an incredible honor to work with Aaron, Andrew, and the rest of the visionary Bluesky Trust & Safety team. As a leading social platform, Bluesky has their work cut out for them: the most devious scammers and fraudsters in the world are drawn to their success. Musubi allows Bluesky to handle rapid growth and stay ahead of even the toughest bad actors trying to overrun the platform. Every day our AI makes thousands of adjustments to keep up with the latest threats. And every day our AI learns from Bluesky's expert moderators, staying precisely aligned with their latest policies. I'm so proud of the 99.8% precision we achieve daily for Bluesky. It means a great user experience and it's a real testament to what both teams can achieve. If you're curious how we do it, check out the case study: https://lnkd.in/gVVw9eSm And if you're exploring fresh ideas for fraud detection on your platform, I'd love to chat. https://lnkd.in/ghHgCxXE

🚀 Union.ai Raises $38.1M Series A to Power a New Era of AI Development Infrastructure Today, we’re excited to announce that Union.ai has completed a $38.1M Series A, led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), with continued support from Nava Ventures and new participation from Mozilla Ventures. This funding comes at an inflection point for AI: engineering teams are discovering that legacy software infrastructure and devtools struggle to handle AI development. They were designed for basic and deterministic processes of traditional data workflows, not for the non-deterministic processes of AI workflows, which expect agents to adapt and recover from failure at runtime. Union.ai is building the new category of AI development infrastructure. Engineering teams can develop dynamic, durable AI workflows and agents while dramatically reducing time spent maintaining brittle pipelines. This funding allows us to continue defining the standard for AI orchestration and investing deeply in the Flyte open-source ecosystem that powers AI workflows at scale. If you’re building agents or AI and want to orchestrate durable, scalable workflows, we’d love to connect. 👉 Read the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/eKJ_Wrwg #AI #MachineLearning #Orchestration #MLOps #OpenSource #SeriesA #AIOrchestration

  • At MozFest 2025,  we explored a critical challenge: the growing race to capture and centralize personal context. In a new paper developed with the team koodos labs (the creators of Shelf), John Dickerson, 🕺 Jad Esber, Apurva Chitnis, and collaborators argue that personal context is becoming the next identity layer. They outline why this shift matters, and how AI can be designed to preserve user agency rather than extract it. The future of AI depends on getting this right. Flower Labs and Starcloud Reach a Major AI Milestone in Orbit AI infrastructure is expanding beyond Earth, with space emerging as a key part of where AI is headed next. Today, Flower Labs and Starcloud are sharing an important step forward: the successful execution of an AI workload using Flower on an operational Starcloud satellite, with telemetry retrieved from orbit confirming end-to-end execution. The mission included locally fine-tuning a ViT transformer to classify high-resolution satellite imagery, urban areas, forests, lakes, and more -- directly on the satellite where the data is generated. The result points to a new paradigm for AI infrastructure. Model training and updates no longer need to rely exclusively on centralized cloud data centers; they can take place in space. This is only the beginning. We look forward to building larger, decentralized AI networks in orbit in continued collaboration with Starcloud.
