The person working next to you has a crap ton of impact on your day, week, month, year...
I used to think workspace was just about space -- good WiFi, quiet corners, good meeting space and unlimited free coffee (my unapologetic non-negotiable)
After a dozen years of building cos, I'm embarrassed to admit it took me a hot minute to realize proximity matters more than perks.
When you’re surrounded by people solving similar problems, you absorb knowledge differently. You overhear a vendor convo that saves you weeks of research. A casual chat over lunch turns into a partnership. You get sharper just by osmosis.
I recently visited the new shared workspace Resident in Flatiron -- and the spot TRACKS. They vet members before they join -- founders and operators at similar stages, all with that “give-first” mindset.
It shows. Every person I met was dealing with challenges that felt familiar. Even the background chatter was useful.
Big shoutout to my guy Maxim Razmakhin for building something special -- and for doing it right here in NY.
If you’re exploring workspace options and want to check it out, hit me up for passes and promos (for teams doing $500K+!).
