🥈 Excited to share that my team, Juan Castillo Pinto and I, took 2nd place at II Reto Emprende — a hackathon focused on innovative tech solutions. We built a full-stack restaurant management app featuring an AI agent called Zaki, designed to replace traditional waitstaff for order-taking and service while giving managers real-time visibility and control over orders and operations. Going from idea to a deployed app and pitch in such a short window was a great test of both technical execution and communication. Proud of what we built, and grateful to CONTECS and Rootstack for making this challenge such a great experience. #Hackathon #AI #Innovation #TechForGood

I came to New York this week for Finovate Fall. Three days surrounded by founders and fintech experts building what's next. There is so much to learn in a room like that. But the conversation that stood out for me wasn't with someone new. It was a reconnection. I caught up with the Director of Partnerships at Rootstack. If you don't know them, Rootstack builds and scales digital products with some of the brightest people in Latin America, with talent from El Salvador, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela. And Rootstack already trusts Sigma to pay that talent. I don't take that lightly. When a company trusts you to pay its people, you're carrying something important. Behind every payment is a person, and often a family, counting on it to arrive. So our conversation this week didn't feel like a vendor check-in. It felt like two teams asking the same question: how do we help each other grow? This is the beginning of an incredible partnership. It also reminded me of something I believe about events. Every one of them hands you a room full of opportunity. The relationships you build, and what you do with them after, are up to you. To the Rootstack team, thank you for the trust. And to everyone I met at Finovate Fall, thank you for the conversations. I will be leaving with a lot to think about.
