About us

Scout is more than just a brand, it’s a legacy steeped in a culture of exploration, caretaking, and hard work. To be a Scout isn‘t just to be a part of a company, it‘s to be a visionary and a leader, someone who seeks new paths and imparts lessons learned to others, leading them forward to new horizons. Here at Scout Motors, we‘re carrying forward the heritage of one of the most iconic American vehicles in history. A vehicle dating back to 1960, one that forged the path for future generations of rugged SUVs and will do so once again. Together with the help of our community, we’re designing, engineering, and building the next generation of electric trucks and rugged SUVs for the doers and the ones who can’t be held back. For the ones who roll up their sleeves, push forward, endure the elements, and get the job done. No frills, no excuses, no quitting. We are growing every day and are seeking the next generation of Scouts to join our ranks. So, to all the hard workers out there, the ones who are willing to carry on the Scout legacy, reimagine an American icon, create jobs for Americans, and lead the charge into the future of electric trucks and rugged SUVs, we‘re calling on you to join us. Because #TheWorldNeedsScouts.

  • Before you build a vehicle, you have to build a team. A team with confidence, hands-on experience, and the technical know-how to meet problems with solutions. Our production team isn't just growing in size. It's growing in skill, and that growth is happening at the Training Center on the Scout Motors Production Center site. Watch the video for an inside look. https://lnkd.in/ePBhfY8d #ScoutMotors #TheWorldNeedsScouts

  • Rome wasn’t built in a day. And the Romans weren’t constructing a state-of-the-art, 1,100-acre facility to produce an estimated 200,000 vehicles a year. Our scouts at the Blythewood job site deserve a shout out. To the hard-working folks building our production center, thank you for raising our barn. Head to the Scout Stories blog to check out the latest Factory Update. https://bit.ly/4dbG5Kb #ScoutMotors #TheWorldNeedsScouts

  • Scouts lead with respect — for each other and for the places we call home. Across our Scout Motors locations, volunteers recognized Earth Week by rolling up their sleeves, taking action, and getting their hands dirty — picking up trash and recyclables to help keep our sites and surrounding communities clean and cared for and learning about the role we all play in protecting our ecosystem. It's a simple step forward. And it matters. Thank you to all the volunteers who stepped up and turned their respect for their community into real impact. #TheWorldNeedsScouts #DrivenByCommunity

  • We’re building the future by building up people. And we’re just getting started.

Today, we opened a door to thousands of careers in the making with the grand opening of the Training Center on our Production Center site — right here in Blythewood, South Carolina. More than 17,000 people have already raised their hands and shared interest in joining our team. People want to build things, and they want meaningful work close to home. Our job is to meet that with real opportunity. We're creating jobs that ask people to roll up their sleeves and reward them for putting in the effort. Not just a paycheck, but a path. A place where you can start on day one and grow over time. This is what that looks like in practice. And none of it happens without partnership. The SC Technical College System and readysc - SC Technical College System have made the Training Center a reality and share our vision for investing in the people of South Carolina and the future of manufacturing.

  • Whether it's on the plant floor or in the great outdoors, our team is committed to building things together.   A group of Scout Motors engineers and leaders spent time at South Carolina's Congaree National Park, rolling up their sleeves to help repair bridges, benches, and other wooden amenities enjoyed by visitors from across the country.   Working together, taking care of the places around us, and making it better for the next person ... that’s what being a Scout is all about.

The scouts of today are committed to supporting the scouts of tomorrow because we have a responsibility to the community around us.   Since February, more than 50 volunteers from our Scout Motors team have visited local schools across the South Carolina Midlands to share their stories with the doers of the future. Our employees hope to provide students with a clearer view of what's possible and where their own paths could lead, connecting what the students are learning today to real opportunities ahead.   The curiosity and enthusiasm from the students has been inspiring. We're proud of the scouts who have volunteered their time to engage with our community's youth and play a role in their development.

When we chose to put down roots in the Carolinas, we knew it came with a responsibility to show up, be a good neighbor, and build something that matters — together with the community, not just around it.   We welcomed 25 students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) across South Carolina as part of the South Carolina Manufacturers and Commerce's HBCU STEM program on Thursday. They spent time with our Scout employees, got a closer look at what we’re building, and explored the many career paths available in automotive and manufacturing. They showed up curious, asked thoughtful questions, and engaged meaningfully with the Scout Motors team. These aspiring professionals made a clear impression -- they're on their way to bright futures and impressive careers.   Moments like this matter to us. It’s how meaningful connections are made and how students begin to see what’s possible for their future.   Thanks to the students for spending time with us, and thanks to the Scout employees who shared their experiences and stories.
