For our work on a design-assist IFOA project for the UCSF Health Helen Diller Hospital, we’re delivering the HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems for this state-of-the-art hospital that will house 324 acute and intensive care patient beds, a new emergency department, and 21 new operating rooms. Working collaboratively alongside our IFOA partners, we were able to creatively devise a plan that would allow us to install our first duct risers using the tower crane prior to the concrete deck pours and spray on fireproofing. Congratulations to Eric Fort, an architectural engineering student from the University of Cincinnati, for being awarded the 2026–2027 ASHRAE David C.J. Peters Scholarship! 🎓 David C.J. Peters left a lasting mark on Southland through his technical expertise, innovative contributions, and dedication to mentoring engineering students. After his passing in 2011, the ASHRAE David C.J. This #ConstructionSuicidePreventionWeek, we’re raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention in the #AECIndustry while acknowledging the role that Lean construction practices have in creating healthier and more supportive work environments. After being awarded the design-build mechanical services contract for Pentagon Wedges 2 through 5 just days before the attack, we quickly allocated resources and mobilized a team to restore portions of the Pentagon that were damaged during 9/11. Leveraging a trusted service relationship spanning more than 15 years with the owner, we’ve secured a project with the M Resort Spa Casino for their new guest room tower. The project involved a new 14-story, 375-room hotel tower totaling 237,500 square feet, and complements the existing resort campus, which includes a casino, hotel, convention center, and event spaces. Delivered through a plan-spec procurement method, we performed the controls and Building Automation System (BAS) scope and installed a new Delta Controls Direct Digital Control (DDC) system to integrate it with the resort’s existing Delta platform serving the hotel and casino. The Building Management System (BMS) control panels used for this tower were prefabricated in our shop environment. Additionally, our controls engineers designed the shop drawings and coordinated system design to allow for streamlined connectivity across facilities. #Service #Controls #BuildingAutomationSystem #Prefabrication
