Last week, members of the Trivers team joined architects and design professionals from across the country at the The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Conference on Architecture & Design 2026 in San Diego. A highlight of the conference was celebrating Principal Joel Fuoss, FAIA LEED AP, at the AIA Fellows Reception following his elevation to the AIA College of Fellows, AIA’s highest membership honor and a distinction held by less than three percent of AIA members nationwide. Joining Joel at the conference were Amy Gilbertson, FAIA, Martin Padilla , AIA, NOMA, LEED Green Associate and Naviinesh Gunalan Gunalan, who represented Trivers throughout the event while engaging with colleagues and industry leaders on topics ranging from design excellence and preservation to sustainability, community impact, and the future of the profession. Congratulations again to Joel Fuoss, FAIA LEED AP on this well-deserved recognition! Yesterday’s tornado threats across the St. Louis region are a reminder of how critical safe, resilient spaces are - especially for schools. It’s the update so many have been waiting for… Restoration efforts at the Rend Lake Resort facilities for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources are full speed ahead, and the progress is becoming more visible every day. Major systems like mechanical, electrical, and plumbing have been roughed in, and finishing work is officially underway. Drywall, paint, and flooring are going in, marking a big milestone in bringing the resort back to life. Twelve duplex cabins, including two new ADA-compliant units, are getting a full transformation! Upgraded event spaces, new laundry amenities, and a new playground, splash pad, and pool area will also be completed soon! Important structural repairs, including fixes for water infiltration, have been completed where needed and are continuing to ensure the long-term durability of the facilities. Construction is anticipated to wrap up later this year. In the meantime, check out the progress photos for a closer look! Trivers Fager-McGee Commercial Construction, Inc.
