“Go gay. Go sad. Go dark.” Josh Silver's "Fruit Fly" is the literary sensation people can't stop talking about. The author and UTA client stopped by our Beverly Hills headquarters for a special Q&A with Christy Fletcher (Partner & Co-Head of UTA Publishing) about his debut adult novel—a viral hit that is nearly impossible to get a copy of. The book centers on a washed-up author who will stop at nothing to claw her way back to relevancy—even if it means appropriating a young gay man’s tragic story. Silver spoke about the "surrealness" of going from mental health nurse to acclaimed author, seemingly overnight, and how his novel is having an impact on readers of all kinds. The event was hosted in partnership with UTA Proud, an inclusion group, as as well UTA's employee book club. 🎥: Jason Yantha

Congratulations to these four superstars whose work and influence in entertainment and media are recognized by Variety in its 2026 Women’s Impact Report. UTA’s very own Theresa Peters (Partner & Agent, Talent; middle right) joins bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand, Emmy-nominated actress Jessica Williams, and cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw*. “The resilience and determination to create, execute, and deliver great entertainment by this year’s honorees remains the engine of show business,” Variety writes. That’s well captured in Peters’ approach to representing exceptional clients. As she tells Variety, “I am never motivated by a negative emotion. I always found it to distract from being passionate and focused.” *Denotes shared representation https://lnkd.in/gn7b3u5c

Our UTA UK colleagues had a cracking time celebrating the end of summer, joined by our friends and partners at Curtis Brown Group and ROOF Football. Held at Pyro, with music by UTA Music client Djammin, the event was our second annual end-of-summer féte and a moment to bring together our international community for an unforgettable night of revelry and connection. Darnell Strom (Partner & Head of UTA UK) and David Kramer (CEO) delivered the evening’s remarks. 🎥 : BANANASWIFT

We’re taking a new approach to our internship model: One that doesn’t evaluate résumés but rather a candidate’s thinking. It’s called UTA’s Micro-Internship. The new program gives participants the opportunity to develop a project in an area of the entertainment industry they care about, connect it to a cultural, business, technology, or audience trend, and make the case for why it matters. If selected, participants will be paid to spend ~15 hours researching and developing their ideas into something a UTA professional can act on. Applications for UTA’s Micro-Internship close September 22. Apply here: https://lnkd.in/g-zYHq2j (you need to create a Parker Dewey account) Also! Intern and Trainee applications are open October 1–22. We want to see how you think, what you notice, and how you take action—not just what’s on your résumé. Short-answer questions will give you the opportunity to show us. Before you apply, join us for one of our three info sessions structured around a simple mission: Build What’s Next. Scenes from our third Culture & Entertainment Breakfast event in London, led by UTA Advisory's Entertainment Marketing team with Brand Innovators. Launched this year, the series brings together marketing leaders and talent to explore how original IP is developed and how brands can create deeper connections with audiences. The latest gathering featured Curtis Brown Group clients Clara Amfo and Munroe Bergdorf, the distinctive podcasting duo behind "Clara & Munroe Are Into It", in conversation with their agent Martha Atack (Head of Unscripted Entertainment, Curtis Brown Group) and moderated by UTA’s Nicola Graham (Director, UTA Advisory). “Clara and Munroe brought their signature sharp cultural insight to a conversation about what it takes to build talent-led IP that truly resonates,” Graham says. “From pop culture and community-building to brand partnerships, they offered valuable perspectives on how marketers can meaningfully engage audiences and strategies to build culturally relevant platforms and partnerships with lasting impact.” Thank you to our partners, speakers, and guests for another inspiring morning, bringing together the creators shaping today’s culture with the marketers building alongside them. The fourth breakfast event of the year will take place in London on November 4, 2026. 📷 : John Nassari

Weekends just got a glow-up! Say good morning to Rhiannon Ally, who is officially joining “Good Morning America” as co-anchor of Sunday telecasts alongside Gio Benitez. Previously, Ally won an Emmy as evening co-anchor at KSHB-TV and has been a correspondent for ABC News. With Whit Johnson also in the GMA family, co-anchoring Saturdays, that means UTA News now represents three of GMA’s four weekend anchors.

A new type of internship. Apply for our Micro-Internship today. More info below.
As you have heard me say before, the internship model needs an upgrade. Too few spots, too many applicants. We don't have the whole answer. But here's our contribution. As we head into campus hiring @UTA, we're screening for curiosity and judgment -- not just credentials. A resumé tells you where someone has been. It doesn't tell you how they think, what they notice, or whether they can turn an observation into something useful, which is most of the job. Last spring we tried something new – we stopped asking for resumés and asked people to build something instead. No relocation, no industry access, no prior experience needed. Real projects. Paid. 🔊 What got them in the door was a point of view worth defending. 🔊 Today we're opening round two of our micro-internship. This is still not a traditional application. You will create your own project. Pick an area of our business you care about -- actors, writers, directors, music, comedy touring, global brands, digital creators, marketing, partnerships, strategy, operations. Find something happening right now in culture, business, technology, or audience behavior that UTA should be paying attention to. Then make the case: 💡 What do you see, and what points to it? 💡 Why does it matter commercially -- who makes money, gains audience, or builds equity? 💡 Who should act, and how? 💡 What would you want to pressure-test further if we picked you? If selected, you'll be paid to take your idea further with UTA-- about 15 hours to research it, stress-test your assumptions, and turn it into something a UTA professional could act on. Everyone who submits is doing something most people never do: testing an idea in the marketplace instead of keeping it in their head. That's where it starts -- not with a credential or a connection, but with a point of view you are willing to put in front of someone. Shout out Jeffrey Moss who built the technology to support this effort. Apply here: https://lnkd.in/g-zYHq2j (you need to create a @Parker Dewey account) Or share this opportunity with someone who should! #ProfessionalizeYourPassion #internship #entertainment #earlycareer United Talent Agency ✨ PS – If you’re still reading then here is some extra insider knowledge for you – please save the Date: October 1–15. That's when applications open for our traditional in-office Intern and Trainee positions -- a deliberately short, two-week window, to benefit those who are most focused on getting to UTA. And those who are selected for UTA’s Micro-Internship will also get a final round interview for either the UTA Intern or Trainee program. ✨

Inside our very glamorous Emmys celebration of “Hacks”! Created, showrun, and executive produced by our clients Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky, "Hacks" broke the all-time Emmy record this year for the most nominations earned by a comedy series in a single year. The soirée was held at Beverly Hills’ Spago and toasted the cast and crew of one of TV’s most acclaimed comedies—with a Vegas twist, naturally. Special thanks to our event partner Ketel One for shaking up A-list cocktails, from the The Dirty Deborah to The Writer’s Room to The Late Show And good luck to the entire “Hacks” family and our nominated clients at the Primetime Emmys! 🎥 : Ace King
