    Meet Maurice, who supports us on growth and strategy at Uplane. I first met Maurice at Enpal, and he very quickly became one of the favorite people I have ever worked with. He didn’t have the fancy “target” unis or big-name employers on his CV, and honestly that never mattered for a second, because he turned out to be one of the most valuable teammates, fastest learners, and sharpest thinkers and doers I have ever come across. He is that rare kind of person who just gets things done, and he makes everyone around him better, and more excited while doing it. The moment I heard he was leaving Enpal, the very first thing I did was pick up the phone and call him to ask him to join us. Today he helps us grow the firm and drives some of our most important projects, and we are incredibly lucky to have him. Maurice, having you on board is genuinely one of the best things that could have happened to this team. Glad you are with us!!

    Couples wellness is one of the most personal categories there is to market, which is what makes it genuinely hard. Much more than "gut health", which is a fancy name to how we poop. When the subject is this sensitive, getting the creative and the targeting right matters more than almost anything. Especially when talking about "doing it" is still a taboo on most platform and LLMs. And a challenge for millions of couples across the country. We're a tiny team and wanted to test more and move faster so we teamed up with Uplane (a Play Ventures portco) for creative, landing pages and testing, with budget shifting in real time toward whatever converts. We've since seen a 58% improvement in ROAS, and we feel like we're only getting started. This is not a paid post. What stood out to me most was the care taken with our brand. The hard part here is never feeling cheap, staying respectful, positive and aesthetic, and Uplane held that line throughout while still lifting performance.     Paul Manns joined us before we even founded Uplane. Back then, we were just three guys in a living room, and he was right there with us, setting up the company from zero, practicing Y Combinator mock interviews, and helping us close and serve our very first clients. He has seen every high and low of starting a company from scratch, and today he is a real cornerstone of how we operate. He supports us co-founders with everything it takes to keep the business running, from legal to finance to hiring, and he is also the person behind many of the automations that keep our internal processes moving. Before joining us, he studied at University of St.Gallen and worked in consulting at Altman Solon and Simon-Kucher, and also gained experience as a Founder’s Associate at another startup. What a journey so far, and I am genuinely excited for what is ahead. Thanks for trusting three guys in a living room!

    Meet Daniel Exler, one of our Founder's Associates at Uplane. I have known Daniel for years now. We first worked together at Enpal, where he joined as an intern in my team. After founding Uplane, bringing him on was one of the first things we did. He spearheads our AI marketing strategist team, the account managers who run the platform day to day for our managed service clients. Their job is to make sure every campaign consistently beats whatever the client was doing before. He studied international business at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) and the National University of Singapore, graduating in the top 1% of his cohort, and worked in growth startups and consulting before joining Uplane.     Meet the two people I get to build Uplane with: We're close to a year in now building Uplane. We've been through Y Combinator, lived in a hacker house together, and seen plenty of highs and lows along the way. What makes us work is how differently we're wired: Lukas Vollmer, our CTO, has a hack for everything. A discount on every product, access to communities no one else can get into, the lights in his home run from his phone, even a little anti-static device so he never gets a shock on a door handle. His software is the same: smart and efficient. He dropped out of uni to join Blair (YC S19) in SF as a teenager, was founding engineer at Fastgen (YC W23), and now builds the fastest marketing manager in the world. Marvin Abdel-Massih, our COO, is the metronome of the company. He structures every meeting, tracks every to-do, and pulls us back to the vision when we drift. He lives in numbers and data (with a background from Imperial College London, Harvard University and McKinsey & Company along the way), but the thing I value most is how he structures creativity. He turns a loose idea into a realistic and actually doable plan. I come from the marketing side, which mostly means I move fast and care a lot about how things look and feel. Lukas is the reason these ideas then get built, and Marvin is the reason they're the right ones. The labels matter less than this: the three of us are 1000% aligned on what we want, the bar we hold, and how we care about life and people. That's the part you can't hire for.

    Excited to announce: Uplane has raised $4.5M in seed funding to replace marketing agencies with AI. Our round is led by Play Ventures, with Y Combinator, 20VC, Multimodal Ventures, and Rebel Fund backing our vision. The past year was the most exciting year of my life (see gallery). I left my role as Growth Director at Enpal, Europe's first greentech unicorn, and moved to San Francisco to found Uplane. I saw the same problem everywhere: marketing agencies are slow, expensive, and manual. The result: approximately half of the world's digital ad spend is wasted on ads that don’t work. So we built Uplane. One platform that does what an entire agency does: research, hypothesis building, creative production, campaign launch, budget optimization, and daily iteration - fully powered by AI. In the past months, we've proven it works: - Growing a global customer base across the US, Europe, and SEA - Delivering 30-60% ROAS uplifts vs. incumbent agencies - Pushing top-tier agencies off multi-million dollar deals (I don’t think they even noticed :) ) - Cutting creative development costs by ~70% on average We test more ads in a day than most agencies test in a month.     In regulated categories, the constraint isn't creativity. It's risk. If compliance is a final review step, the loop breaks: produce → flags → rework → slower testing next week. The fix is simple: Build compliance into the workflow, not the end. At Uplane, we built an FDA compliance layer directly into our creative engine. Every ad and landing page is generated as a real design file, not a flat image, so disclaimers, claims, and required disclosures are actual text that gets validated automatically against approved product documentation. Compliance runs at generation time, not review time. By the time a marketer sees a draft, it's already passed the check.
