Assistant Controller

We’re working with clients in the Dallas area who are looking for experienced Assistant Controllers to support accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Review general ledger activity and ensure financial statements are accurate and timely
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Review work prepared by accounting staff and help manage close deadlines
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Support audits, tax requests, compliance reporting, and other external reporting needs
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting
• Partner with finance and operations teams to resolve accounting issues and improve reporting
• Help drive process improvements, system enhancements, and accounting workflow efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Accounting degree
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior experience as an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Manager, or similar role
• Strong month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting background
• Experience reviewing accounting work and managing close deadlines
• Working knowledge of internal controls, audits, and accounting process improvement
• Strong Excel and reporting skills
• Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or public accounting experience
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
