We are seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to design, build, and optimize secure, scalable Azure infrastructure supporting enterprise systems and modern applications. This is a hands-on role focused on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud networking, and establishing consistent, scalable cloud practices.
This individual will take ownership of key infrastructure initiatives, helping to standardize deployments, improve reliability, and enhance the overall Azure environment in close partnership with Security, IT Operations, and Development teams.
Location & Compensation
4 days onsite in Bethesda, MD
$150K–$200K total compensation, plus bonus
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and support Azure infrastructure across compute, storage, and core platform services
Rebuild and optimize existing Azure environments to improve performance and scalability
Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM
Establish automated, repeatable deployment pipelines and eliminate manual configurations
Design secure Azure networking, ensuring internal communication and segmented architectures
Support backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency strategies
Partner with development teams to enable secure, scalable application integrations
Contribute to architecture discussions and drive best practices across the environment
First 30–60 Days
First 30 days:
Learn the current Azure environment and identify gaps in infrastructure and deployment practices
First 60 days:
Implement IaC and build deployment pipelines
Establish foundational standards for consistency and scalability
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or systems engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code
Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity
Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
