Senior Electrical Engineer / Lighting Designer

Location: In-person (State College, PA Office) or Remote

Position Summary

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact by designing innovative electrical and lighting systems in a dynamic and collaborative environment? As a Senior-Level Project Electrical Engineer / Lighting Designer at Reese Hackman, you will combine technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills to design innovative electrical and lighting systems that enhance the built environment. You will play a key role in shaping design direction, mentoring emerging engineers, and ensuring technical excellence across every phase of project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and lighting design projects from concept through construction
• Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, and life‑safety systems
• Provide technical leadership and quality oversight across project teams
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and consultants to support integrated design solutions
• Build strong client relationships and support business development efforts
• Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering technical and professional growth
• Evaluate existing buildings and develop creative, energy‑efficient renovation solutions
• Ensure code compliance and design excellence, including NEC, IES, NFPA, and energy codes

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing electrical and lighting systems for commercial and institutional projects
• Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree (ABET-accredited)
• Experience managing projects and leading design teams
• Strong technical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Revit
• PE licensure
