We are seeking a highly driven Senior Engineering Overseer to lead the design, development, and delivery of next-generation infrastructure and technology platforms that support critical financial services. You will oversee engineering engineering groups developing distributed systems that power trading, risk, compliance, and client-facing applications at scale.
This role requires both hands-on technical depth and strong leadership skills. You will define technical roadmaps, manage delivery against high-stakes deadlines, and ensure our technology platforms meet the highest standards of security, performance, and reliability. You will work closely with product managers, quantitative researchers, and senior business leaders to deliver technology that drives measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Guide Engineering Teams: Oversee and mentor a high-performing engineering group of engineers working on complex financial systems.
Deliver Mission-Critical Platforms: Oversee systems supporting trading, risk management, and regulatory compliance, ensuring reliability and low latency.
Define Technical Roadmaps: Shape medium- and long-term technical strategy for financial infrastructure and data technology platforms.
Foster Engineering Excellence: Establish best practices in testing, deployment, observability, and secure software development.
Partner with Stakeholders: Collaborate with product, risk, and business engineering groups to align technical investments with strategic priorities.
Drive Innovation: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies in cloud, distributed computing, and AI/ML to improve technology platform performance and capabilities.
Experience and Background
Guideership Experience: 8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineering groups in enterprise or financial services environments.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in backend engineering, distributed systems, or large-scale data technology platforms.
Languages & Tools: Proficiency in Java, Python, or C++; experience with modern frameworks and cloud technology platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Financial Systems Exposure: Experience with trading, risk, payments, or compliance systems strongly preferred.
Operational Excellence: Proven track record delivering highly available, secure, and performant systems in production.
People Development: Skilled at coaching, mentoring, and growing engineering talent at multiple levels.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
