We are currently recruiting a Technical Sales Engineer for our client Thomas LLC, the North American subsidiary of Thomas Group, based in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically inclined and commercially driven professional to support the company’s growth through a combination of new business development and account management. The role is ideal for someone with a strong hunter mentality who enjoys being hands-on with customers, while also supporting and growing existing accounts. Candidates with a background in OEM, off-highway, Tier 1 or Tier 2 supply chains, mobile hydraulics, construction, agriculture equipment industries, and who are looking to work in a fast-paced and international environment, will be particularly well suited for this opportunity.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support the growth of Thomas LLC through a combination of new business development and account support. This is a hands-on, field-oriented role requiring a strong hunter mentality, technical curiosity, and the ability to engage with customers across engineering and commercial functions. The role will focus equally on developing new business opportunities and supporting existing customers, working closely with internal teams to deliver tailored technical solutions and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
This is a hybrid commercial and technical role, requiring the ability to understand the evolving engineering needs while coordinating internal teams to deliver on-time, high-quality, and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new customers in target industries (off-highway, hydraulics, mobile equipment).
Actively prospect, generate leads, and develop new opportunities.
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the account (upsell, cross-sell, new platforms)
Support and grow existing customer relationships
Support RFQs, proposals, and early-stage technical discussions.
Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and long-term agreements, aligning with profitability goals
Ensure compliance with account’s quality, delivery, and cost requirements
Manage complex program execution in collaboration with internal engineering, logistics, production, and quality teams
Proactively resolve supply chain disruptions, technical issues, and customer complaints
Provide insights and feedback to Thomas’s internal teams to drive product innovation and continuous improvement
Maintain expert-level knowledge of Thomas’s product portfolio and Key account’s platform strategies
Use CRM tools and sales analytics to forecast demand and track performance
Travel for training purposes, tradeshow traveling, Thomas US HQ in Wisconsin as well as HQ in Germany (several times per year) 50-70% travel to customers
Your Profile
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant technical field
7+ years of experience in technical sales, account management, or application engineering in an industrial B2B setting
Strong background in OEM environments including off-highway, mobile hydraulics, agriculture or construction equipment supply chains (Tier 1 or Tier 2)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills across engineering, procurement, and senior leadership
Proven ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional collaboration
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
Proficiency in CRM systems and data analysis tools
International experience or cross-cultural collaboration is a plus
