Jonah Feingold’s Post

We're taking Busboys directly to theaters. No studio. No distributor. Just us. Opening nationwide at Cinemark and Regal on April 17, 2026. Tickets go on sale this Monday, March 16 at BusboysMovie.com. Theo Von and David Spade produced this film themselves and are releasing it directly to fans — and I couldn't be more proud to have directed it. This is what independent filmmaking looks like in 2026. The theaters have told us something important: they will expand the number of locations based on demand. That means every ticket sold in this presale window directly determines how wide we go. This is one of those rare moments where the audience has real power. To everyone who's been part of this journey — cast, crew, collaborators — thank you. Trailer drops Monday. Scenes, bloopers, and behind-the-scenes content coming all month. This movie is proof that independent creators don't need to wait for Hollywood to open the door. We can build our own. Thanks to my amazing EP Ezra Cooperstein, for revolutionizing the way we make films for audiences and the incredible team at Night for the work they are about to release! I feel so honored to be collaborating with this incredible company and group of artists. 🎬 Tickets: BusboysMovie.com #Busboys #IndependentFilm #FilmRelease

Do you guys have social media accounts? I suggest you drop them here..along with David Spade and Theo Von’s social media accounts too ( guessing they will use their social media to promote the film). This post has already received a good number of impressions, so sharing them here could help increase traffic. You can absolutely create that demand. Looking forward to hearing about your success!

Jonah Feingold a first-adopter strategy to define distribution, create momentum, and build social proof. Early fans become ambassadors, and the trailer acts as a powerful pull mechanism. Really fascinating approach to audience-driven release.

Total nerd question: who’s handling the bookings?

This is brilliant. Was just talking with someone about IRON LUNG. Would love to hear more re your journey to this point including marketing plans.

Honestly I’m hooked just by the poster and cast. I think best awareness method is a strong social media campaign, which this is pre-disposed to do well with given your cast.

Cutting the tether to the mothership is a bold choice. Curious if the rev share is flat split or graduated and if the exhibitors are in for any marketing. I wish you great success and kudos for trying a new model!

Jonah Feingold That how you do it. No more gatekeepers or waiting for greenlight. We can do it all now from soup to nuts. From independent to “non-dependent” producing just like that.

The presale window determining expansion is the attention economy working exactly as it should. The audience decides how wide it goes.

Maybe 15 years ago, over a period of months, Theo and I would chat and laugh several times a week at a Coffee Bean on Wilshire and 9th. Our company plans to approach him about voicing a character in our upcoming animated Christmas feature. He was definitely bursting with potential back then, so it's great to see him flourishing with his distinctive humor and personality intact.
