🚀 Ever wondered what happens when you run a Java program? We write: System.out.println("Hello World!"); …and almost instantly we get the output. But what happens in between? 👀 The high-level journey looks like this: .java → javac → .class (Bytecode) → JVM → Execution → Output The interesting part is that Java doesn't directly compile our source code into machine code for a specific operating system. Instead: 🔹 javac converts source code into bytecode 🔹 The JVM loads and verifies that bytecode 🔹 The JVM's execution engine interprets and JIT-compiles code 🔹 The resulting native instructions are executed by the underlying system This is one of the key ideas behind Java's: "Write Once, Run Anywhere." ☕🚀 And this is just the high-level picture. The real rabbit hole starts inside the JVM — Class Loader → Runtime Memory → Interpreter → JIT → Garbage Collector → Native Execution. 🤔 What if you could use something without knowing how it works internally? That’s the simple idea behind Abstraction in Java. I learned that abstraction means: • Hiding unnecessary implementation details • Showing only the essential features • Focusing on what an object does, not how it does it 📺 A simple real-world example: a TV remote. We press a button to turn the TV on, but we don’t need to know how the internal circuits and signals work. In Java, abstraction can be achieved using abstract classes and interfaces. 🚀 LeetCode 560 – Subarray Sum Equals K | Solved another LeetCode problem using Java and strengthened my understanding of Prefix Sum and HashMap. The problem focuses on finding the number of continuous subarrays whose sum equals a given value K. I learned how storing previous prefix sums in a HashMap can help solve the problem efficiently in O(n) time. It’s designed to power semantic search, recommendation systems, and RAG retrieval using existing embeddings. 🚀 Day 19/50 – StringBuilder & StringBuffer in Java Today I Learned: 👉 StringBuilder & StringBuffer 📚 What I Learned StringBuilder is used to modify strings efficiently. StringBuffer is similar to StringBuilder but thread-safe. Both are mutable, unlike String. Discover the unexpected transformations that bytecode undergoes at runtime, and how these impact your application's speed and efficiency. In the JVM the work is tiered and adaptive: interpreter for warmup, lightweight compilation to catch hot paths, then heavy optimization using runtime profiles. The compiler uses actual receiver types and branch frequencies to speculatively inline and simplify code. When an assumption breaks, the JVM deoptimizes back to interpreted or less-optimized code and recompiles with new profiles.
