I recently gave a talk about Agentic Development at AlmatyJS Light 7. Adding instruction files like AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md to the repository is a worthwhile way to improve development. These files help agents understand the project, how to run it, and what conventions to follow. Keeping the instructions short and structured is important. When they become too large, agents tend to follow them worse. Clear instructions reduce iteration cycles, lower costs, and improve the quality of the generated code. 🌟 Basira — Exploring the Stories of the Prophets Alhamdulillah, I built Basira, an interactive platform that brings the life stories and lineages of the Prophets to life. It transforms classical texts into dynamic, interactive graphs, highlighting mentorship lineages and historical connections in a way that’s accessible for both Arabic and English readers. This project has been a meaningful journey — combining Islamic heritage with modern web technology to make learning engaging, interactive, and insightful. Sumsub reported a 600% year-over-year increase in detected deepfake incidents in Saudi Arabia. At the same time, Krisp just ranked number one across accent neutralization, noise cancellation, and translation. These sound like separate stories. They're not. As voice agents scale globally, two things are becoming clear. First, voice quality is not cosmetic. Accent clarity, noise cancellation, and naturalness directly affect comprehension and conversion. Codeway saw a 9% trial conversion uplift just from switching to better TTS voices. Second, trust verification is becoming foundational. If anyone can clone a voice in seconds, organizations need real-time detection capabilities deployed at the infrastructure level. The voice stack is no longer just STT plus LLM plus TTS. It's STT plus LLM plus TTS plus quality plus trust. That's a bigger surface area than most teams are testing for.

Voice AI is no longer just STT + LLM + TTS. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁. Telnyx is a licensed carrier, so we provide A-level STIR/SHAKEN attestation at the network layer — something app-layer voice AI platforms cannot provide on their own. In a world of trivial voice cloning, that difference is foundational. We also actively police our network: if a number is spammy, we block origination rather than let abuse flow. That is why you do not find Telnyx at the top of RRAPTOR-style spam and reputation dashboards the way you do with many competitors’ upstream carriers. 𝗔𝗱𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗺 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗜-𝘃𝘀-𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and the category starts to look a lot less like a voice AI app and a lot more like 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿-𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. And because our inference is colocated next to the media stack, we can deliver the 𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀. 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀.

Your team did the safe thing. You shipped behind a feature flag. Then localisation got weird. Half your users saw the new flow. The other half saw the old one. And your translators had no idea which text was live. This is how “shipping fast” turns into “shipping inconsistent”. The fix is simple: tie every flagged feature to a localisation plan. If a flag is on the roadmap, its strings are on the roadmap too. And every flag needs an owner and an end date. Because flag debt becomes localisation debt. If you are using feature flags, ask this: Do we localise at 0%, 50%, or only when the flag hits 100%?

If you are planning to have your software localized, string concatenation is a habit worth breaking. String concatenation is the process of joining short strings to form a new string: e.g. sentence_start + variable + sentence_end. It causes all sorts of issues for us, translators, and will result in localization bugs that will take a lot of time, effort and money to fix. The solution is straightforward: treat every user-facing string as a complete, self-contained sentence in the development phase. You can read more about it in my blog post in the first comment.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗧𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝘂𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 You want to build a multi-language site. WPML costs $99/year. Polylang adds complexity. We built a custom translation system. It took less time than configuring either plugin. We handle 5 languages across two sites. Here's how: - Language detection from URL prefix - JSON files per language for translations - No database lookups or cookies Our system is simple. We use three components: - Language detection - Translation function - Hreflang output We translate content using Grok API. It costs ~$0.002 per article. We can translate 50 articles for under $0.10. Our system is efficient. Here's a comparison: - DB queries per page: 0 (our system), 15-30 (WPML) - Plugin weight:
