Most security benchmarks assume the vulnerable code is already known. In practice, defenders first have to find it. Cisco Foundation AI introduces VLoc Bench, a benchmark for repository-scale vulnerability localization: given a CWE and read-only access to a real codebase, can an agent identify the files associated with the weakness? VLoc Bench includes 500 real vulnerabilities across 290 repositories, 6 ecosystems, and 147 CWE categories. Across 27 language models and 4 static-analysis tools, the best system reaches only 0.229 File F1—and 38.4% of tasks are missed by every model. As models get better at coding, it becomes increasingly important to ask what is actually improving: general code understanding, or security-specific competence? What Reaccelerated Cisco’s Growth in the AI Era? One of the big things that reaccelerated growth was the AI secular shift. But had we not had a few things architecturally in place, we would not have been able to restore growth. The biggest contributor in my opinion was building a vertically integrated platform that is a co-designed full stack. And the core foundation of that vertically integrated platform is Cisco building its own silicon for its switches and routers. Why is that important? Because customers, especially Hyperscalers look for silicon diversity. And Cisco’s Silicon and photonics business form the core foundation of that vertically integrated platform. I had a chance to sit down and talk to Nick Kucharewski and Mohammad Issa on my Inside Product Podcast.
