Water systems and other critical infrastructure face increasingly sophisticated cyberthreats, often while serving communities with limited resources to defend against them. Protecting these essential services requires a collaborative effort across governments and industry, combining operational expertise with advanced cybersecurity, threat intelligence and AI-powered security capabilities. I was honored to participate in today’s Project Watershed 250 launch and to join leaders from the Office of the National Cyber Director, The White House, the State of Texas, and Texas Cyber Command. Microsoft is proud to be a leader in helping communities across the country strengthen their defenses against cyberthreats to water systems and other critical infrastructure. Through this six-month Texas pilot, we aim to help utilities identify vulnerabilities, strengthen resilience and develop practical approaches that can scale nationwide.
