I welcome you to the National Mathematical Centre, an International Centre of Excellence in Mathematical Sciences.
Since its establishment over thirty years ago, NMC has no doubt played vital roles in the development of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences in Nigeria. As an Inter-University Centre, the NMC occupies a special place in the Nigerian Education system. Its unique role of inter-relating with all Universities and other tertiary institutions buttresses the fact that it is distinctly different from other research institutions.
In the same light, Research proposals on contemporary issues that are internationally competitive and nationally relevant, have been developed; thereby seeking Mathematical solutions to some national challenges in the area of economy, agriculture, environment, health, security, etc.
