A 24-year-old man led police on a high-speed chase in Prince Albert early this morning after fleeing when police attempted to pull him over for driving without headlights; he collided with a power box and light standard before trying to escape on foot but was apprehended with help from a police dog and faces charges including dangerous driving and failing to stop for police. Saskatoon RCMP are also investigating a fatal single-vehicle rollover last night just outside the city on Highway 7 where a female driver and lone occupant died after losing control of her vehicle in wet weather conditions near the CN overpass.

PA HI-SPEED 1 MAR 4 CL A high-speed pursuit early this morning in Prince Albert has led to charges against the driver. Prince Albert Police attempted to pull over a vehicle being driven without headlights on 18th Street West. After the driver eventually stopped for police on the 1300 block of Central Avenue, he sped off again as police approached the vehicle. The pursuit continued onto River Street East until the driver collided with a power box and a light standard. The driver tried to escape on foot, but was later apprehended with the assistance of a police dog The 24 year old driver is charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, and 2 counts of breach of undertaking. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------STOON FATAL 1 APR 29 CL Saskatoon RCMP are investigating a fatal single vehicle rollover last night, just outside the city on Highway 7. The rollover occurred shortly before 10:15 near the CN overpass, after the vehicle lost control and left the road. The female driver and lone occupant of the vehicle died in the rollover. Roads were wet with rain and snow at the time of the crash, and RCMP continue their investigation.
