Gymnastics

Level 1: I can
• Roll at least one way.
• Copy and repeat simple actions like balances, jumps, twists etc.
• Hold simple balances with little wobbling.
• Make simple shapes in the air whilst jumping.

Level 2: I can also


• Roll in two different ways.
• Explore simple actions like balances, jumps twists and rolls etc.
• Perform simple balances without wobbling.
• Make various shapes in the air whilst jumping.

Level 3: I can also


• Choose and use different skills at the right time. E.g. I can sometimes choose
which actions to use whilst moving into and out of balance.
• Perform different actions with some control and co-ordination.

Level 4: I can also


• Link actions together to make a sequence.
• Perform some actions with control and accuracy.
• Show that sometimes my actions flow from one to the next.

Level 5: I can also


• Regularly choose and link different actions smoothly and accurately to make a
sequence.
• Show my actions regularly flow and are controlled and precise.
• Show good ideas and control when linking balances together.

Level 6: I can also


• Show that the actions I use fit together well.
• Show my actions are regularly precise with fluency and controlled. eg. When I
perform a cartwheel my legs are straight my toes are pointed and I move along a
straight line. I can then go straight into the next set of actions without a break.

Level 7: I can also


• Sometimes put advanced skills together as part of my sequence and link them
extremely well.

Level 8: I can also


• Regularly use advance skills.
• Perform extremely precise movements.
• Show I am extremely controlled in all my movements.
• Show that all my movements flow one into the next.
Level 9: I can also
• Use advance skills all of the time during my sequence of movements.
• Show that my sequence of movements is varied and advanced all of the time.
• Understand the safety aspects of supporting and performing advanced
movements.

Level 10: I can also


• Use advanced movements that are extremely precise with fluency and control all
the time.
• Present an extremely advanced sequence and variety of movements with
excellent timing and excellent precision all the time.
