Chapter 6

This chapter summarizes the key aspects of the design project to fulfill its objectives and determine if the objectives were achieved. It concludes that a device was designed to wirelessly control lights and outlets using a mobile app in order to promote energy preservation. The chapter also provides recommendations, such as using different current sensors, measuring each outlet's power consumption, supporting more Android versions and other mobile platforms, to further improve the design project.

Chapter 6 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS This chapter supplies the synopsis of the essential parts in the design project

which helped in fulfilling the objectives. It also provides the answer in the objectives which will serve as evidence in the success of the design project. This chapter also includes recommendations to further augment and develop the design project. Conclusions The proponents intended to make a device that will enable a user to control the lights and outlets wirelessly using a mobile application which will promote preservation of energy. The following conclusions were formed by using the findings of the project. The proponents: 1. Designed and developed a device that can feature automatic outlets that disconnect from the source once a standby connection is detected, monitor daily power consumption using current and voltage sensors, send and receive data through Ethernet and SMS modules, and be powered up using a solar power supply. 2. Created an Android application that can control the operation of the whole device. 3. Integrated the hardware with the mobile application through the use of different programming softwares such as Arduino IDE and Basic4Android. 4. Tested and evaluated the functionality, accuracy and efficiency of the system by conducting different sets of test in the most conditions possible and recorded the results in a table.

Recommendations For further development of the design project, the proponents recommended the following: 1. *use different kind of current sensor *measure the power consumed by each outlet *Android OS lower versions *other mobile phone OS
