Using Short Cuts when
Generating Schematics

When you create a schemati c,
there are a coupl e techni ques
that can hel p speed thi ngs up:
1. Copy components that you
have al ready pl aced on the
schemati c, rather than
pl aci ng new ones (usi ng
the menus or pal ettes)
each ti me.
2. Enter component names
i n the Component Hi story
wi ndow. For exampl e, type
R for resi stor, and press
Enter. Then pl ace the com-
ponent i n the schemati c.
You must type i n the exact
name of the component you
want; remember that ADS
i s case sensi ti ve.
3. Because the Component
Hi story wi ndow keeps a
l i st of the components you
pl ace i n the schemati c
(after i ni ti al l y openi ng the
wi ndow), i f you see that a
parti cul ar component i s
al ready i n the schemati c,
you can cl i ck the
down-arrow next to the
Component Hi story wi n-
dow, sel ect the desi red
component, and i nsert the
part i n the schemati c.
