Dance Video Preferences Survey Results

The survey responses were mostly received from females aged 15 to 17, which matched the target audience. The preferred genre indicated by the target audience was dance. RESULTS ANALYSIS

The majority of responses were received by females aged
between 15 and 17. This was mainly due to available
recipients.
I sent the survey out to a relatively varied audience although
the responses that were received mainly consisted of members
of my target audience (both males and females aged 15 18).
The preferred choice stated by my target
audience was Dance. This goes well with the
type of and style of video I would like to
produce.
The up tune and exhilarating rhythm of dance
music would be best suited by a sunny, urban
and energetic dance video.
The answer stated here matches the choices of
the previous question. These answers are very
helpful and will aid in the song selection
process.

A dance video would go extremely well with a
track, creating video which viewers can watch
and enjoy.
This question indicates that the lyrics of a track
do not always have to match the scenes of the
video.

This means that a purely dance based video
could be highly successful, keeping the
audience engaged and entertained.


Majority of the answers which I received stated
that a music video does not always require a
definitive story line, suggesting that interesting
content would be enough to keep audiences
engaged.

A simple or basic storyline would also be
sufficient for a dance video. A simple sequence
of events or repeated settings/location would
create this effect, giving the scenes meaning
and a sense of organisation.
This question clearly shows that creative music
videos are much more appealing to my target
audience, harnessing their imagination.

A well edited dance video would meet these
preferences extremely well, portraying both
the city environment, dancing skills and the
overall feel of the chosen track.

This question allowed me top gain a rough
understanding of what styles of music videos
appeal to my target audible. This provides me
with the knowledge that I require to creating a
successful and enjoyable video.

The majority of the results received were those
of Pop tracks although these answers could be
biased more towards the song than the actual
video.

Each recipient provided extremely varied
answers, encompassing various styles and
genres of music.

I will strive to utilize various aspects of these
videos to create and appealing and engaging
music video.
