Women mobility issues in Karachi


There are increasing number of women
going for work and education in the city.
Allocation of less space in public transport
for women commuters has become a
major hurdle for their mobility. Results,
loosing job or education.

There are limited seating capacity in


women compartment of buses and
mini buses.
Rickshaws and taxis fares are not
affordable any more.

Women transport problems in Karachi


Long hours of waiting.
Insecure travelling patterns.

Pay extra costs.


Face harassment.

Ensure safe mobility of women


Increase seating capacity for women in
buses and mini buses.
Initiate exclusive bus services for women.

In many countries, women have exclusive bus as well as train


services. Why not in Pakistan?!
