o Timber: Hardwood (Teak, Sal, Oak, beach, etc.)
o Softwood : (Chir, deodar, fir, kail, pine, etc.)
o Scaffolding: Bamboo
o Plywood: (IS 4990)
o Steel Plates: panels of 14 G or 16 G steel plates are used with 25x25x3 or 35x35x3
angles framing
o Steel tubes: Heavy class welded or seamless tubes of 40 mm N.B. (Nominal Bore)
confirming to IS:1161 (Specification for steel tubes for structural purposes) are to be
used.
o Release agents and sealer
Loading to be considered for Formwork Design
o Vertical Loads
o Dead Loads: Weight of Reinforced concrete weight of forms (Approx 750 N/m2)
o Live Loads: Loads form material storage, workmen & equipment (2.5 kN/m 2)
o Lateral loads:
