The LNG industry saw growth in 2011, with the world's LNG trade increasing 8% to 17.7 million tons. The LNG spot market grew even more at 32% or 15 million tons. Global liquefaction capacity increased by only 2.9% or 7.8 million tons per year, while regasification capacity grew 64% to 608 million tons per year since 2006. The majority of the world's LNG is consumed in the Asia Pacific region, with Asian countries consuming 153 million tons in 2011. There are four main gas pricing systems - hub based, oil-linked, regulated, and subsidized. As of the end of 2011, global liquefaction capacity was 278.7 million tons per year
