How to Create a Cute Pig in Illustrator

Hello, well be creating a vector pig in illustrator!

Step 1: Create a new document in Illustrator. Make it 430 pixels by 215 pixels.

Step 2: Using the rectangle tool, create a box that is 430px by 215px

Step 3: Rename this layer by double-clicking on it in the layers panel. Name it Base.

Step 4: Your rectangle needs to be selected. It should be since you just created the object. If it is
not selected, then use the black arrow tool to select it. (The tool is shown encircled below)

Step 5: Now drag your rectangle to the center of the Artboard.

Step 6: Change your rectangles color to peach (C: 0, M: 24, Y: 18, K: 0) and remove the stroke

Step 7: Create a new layer in the Layers panel. Name this Eyes.

Step 8: For the eyes, youll need the ellipse tool. Simply press L to use the tool. Now create a
circle that has a fill of dark purple (C: 90, M: 100, Y: 35, K: 50) with no stroke

Step 9: Copy and paste the circle to create a second eye. Make sure to move both circles to make
them look like eyes.

Step 10: Create a new layer (Named Nose) and make a third circle that is pink. (C: 5, Y: 70, M:
10, K: 0)

Step 11: Youre going to use the Mesh Tool Now.

Step 12: Click once on the left, on the center and on the right with your mesh tool.

Step 13: Using your Direct selection tool, click on the different nodes to change each color. (The
nodes are the small dots on the lines). Click on the bottom right node.

Step 14: Change this to a dark pink (C:35, M:100 ,Y:5, K:0)

Step 15: Change the rest of the bottom outside nodes to this same shade.

Step 16: Create two dark purple circles for your pigs nostrils. (Theyll be the same color as the
eyes)

Step 17: On a new layer, named Cheeks, create a large light peach (C:3, M:21 ,Y:14, K:0 ) circle
under the eye.

Step 18: With the Direct Selection tool, double click on the bottom of the circle and push it up

Step 19: Youll be using the Mesh Tool again. Create three lines across, and one line down.

Step 20: Using the same technique in Steps 14-15, change the colors of the shape. Change the
bottom inner to the same peach as the face, the middle to a light peach (C:0, M: 7, Y: 4, K: 0),
and the upper edges and sides to another peach (C:1, M:16, Y:13,K:0)

Step 21: Copy and paste the cheek under the other eye

Step 22: Create a new layer under the Nose layer. Name this mouth.
Step 23: Copy and paste an eye to this layer. Move it under the nose.

Step 24: Copy and paste a cheek onto this layer too.

Step 25: With the cheek still selected, go to Object > Transform > Reflect.

And put in the following value

Step 26: Now shrink it to match the size of the mouth and move it behind it. You can arrange it
by CTRL [

Step 27: Now create a small pink circle over the mouth

Step 28: Add the mouth to your selection by SHIFT clicking on it.

Step 29: Go to Pathfinder, near the Align panel, and select Divide

Step 30: Right click on the shape, select Ungroup

Step 31: Now delete the excess pink part

Step 32: Create an ellipse the same color as the face on the Nose layer.

Step 33: Push the bottom of the circle up.

Step 34: Use the Mesh Tool to create two points across the shine.

Step 35: In the Transparency Panel, change the bottom nodes to 0%

options, and enter in these values

Step 42: Now select Make under the Blend option seen above.

Step 43: Repeat steps 40-42 for the second nostril

Step 44: Create a new layer and name it Ears.

Step 45: Make a pink rounded rectangle that is 80 px 75 px with a corner radius of 15 px

Step 46: Now move it to the corner of the pigs face
