Compliance checks of ABC establishments

Location: City of Thomasville

On June 19, 2015, The Thomasville Police Department conducted an undercover


operation for the purpose of ABC compliance checks of retail establishments that
hold ABC permits.
Thomasville Police Department Special Operations Officers checked several
locations throughout the city to determine if alcohol was being sold to underage
persons. As a result, six locations that hold ABC permits were found to be in
violation for the sale of alcohol to an underage person. Five individuals were also
cited for the sale of alcoholic beverages to a person less than 21 years of age,
NCGS 18B-302.
The locations in violation and persons charged are:
-Eagle Mart- 1450 Baptist Childrens Home Rd.
Sheryl Cranford- cited for sell to underage person NCGS 18B-302
-GDI Food Mart- 910 Lake Rd.
Mendy Bean- cited for sell to underage person NCGS 18B-302
-Pantry Shop #5- 500 National Hwy
Rajeshkumar Shah- cited for sell to underage person NCGS 18B-302
-In and Out Mart- 509 National Hwy
Eric Morsalin- cited for sell to underage person NCGS 18B-302
-Fairway One Stop- 600 National Hwy
In Bok Kim- cited for sell to underage person NCGS 18B-302
-SD Food Mart- 215 National Hwy
Juvenile clerk, petitioned to Juvenile Justice for charge of sell to underage
person NCGS 18B-302

Those individuals cited have pending court dates in Davidson County District Court
on Wednesday
July 8, 2015. In addition, The Thomasville Police Department will forward these
violations to the North Carolina ABC Commission and NC Alcohol Law Enforcement
for potential ABC compliance violations and fines against the establishment
holding the ABC permits.
