Solenoid Coil

A solenoid is a coil of wire wrapped around a metallic core that produces a uniform magnetic field when electric current passes through it. The document provides a formula to calculate the electromagnetic force of a solenoid based on the current, number of turns, length of the gap between the solenoid and a metal piece, area, and a magnetic constant. This online calculator allows the user to calculate the solenoid's electromagnetic force by inputting the requested field values into the provided formula.

Solenoid Coil - Current carrying coil

Solenoid is a long loop of wire wrapped along metallic core, which produces a
uniform magnetic field when electric current is passed. Electromagnetic force is a
fundamental force of nature and this force is described by electromagnetic fields,
this online calculator can be used to calculate solenoid electromagnetic force by
filling in requested fields.

Solenoid Coil

Formula:

F = (n x i)2 x magnetic constant x a / (2 x g2)

Where,
F = Force, i = Current, g = Length of the gap between the solenoid and a piece of
metal, a = Area n = Number of turns, Magnetic constant = 4 x PI x 10- 7.
