The Danville Police Department is investigating two separate purse snatchings that occurred on the same day. In both incidents, a man approached elderly women asking for directions and grabbed their purses when they raised their arms to point. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid to late 30s with a tan. PURSE SNATCHINGS

The Danville Police Department is investigating two separate purse thefts that occurred today.

At approximately 3:48pm this afternoon a 78-year-old Danville woman reported that she was
walking towards the Piggly Wiggly entrance at Nor Dan Shopping Center when she was
approached by a man in a car. The man pulled alongside the woman and asked her for
directions. When the woman raised her arm to point in the direction he asked about, the man
grabbed a purse that she was carrying and drove away with it.

At approximately 6:25pm this afternoon a 74-year-old Danville woman reported that she was
walking towards the CVS Pharmacy entrance on Piney Forest Road when she was approached
by a man on foot asking for directions. When the woman raised her arm to point in the direction
he asked about, the man grabbed a purse that she was carrying, jumped into a car, and drove
away with it.

Neither victim was injured during these incidents. The suspect is described as a white male, mid
to late 30’s, with a tan. After reviewing surveillance videos, the following stills show both the
suspect and the car that he was driving in both incidents.
