Scene 1:EXT- Forest Night
A short monologue being told by EMILY is the
introduction to the narrative. EMILYs tone of voice appears flat
and dry almost sinister. The sound of eerie violin music is used for
the soundtrack for this part of the plot. This will create a
suspenseful atmosphere as this Emily is in another dimension which
will be unknown the audience.
The beginning of the narrative starts of in an outdoor area in a
dark forest. This is in which EMILY is in a dream but does not
realise this.
SOUND:
Harsh wind
Birds chirping
Eerie windpipe music (Indicating dream
atmosphere)
Heavy rain
Leaves rustling
Dream.
SOUND:
Footsteps
EMILY is currently walking through a forest area at this point. She
is confused with where she is as no one else is with her. However,
she has the feeling she is being watched by someone she cannot see
which makes her feel tense and uncomfortable. Due to EMILY not
realising she is in her own dream, she is scared and unrelaxed with
not being familiar with her surroundings. The sound of her own
footsteps trenching through the mud is her only guide to escaping
the unknown.
EMILY:
SOUND:
(voice in an echo) where am I?
Footsteps
Clap of thunder
Branch snap
EMILY:
SOUND:
(Stuttering) H, hello! Is anyone there?
Inhuman/ distorted voices
Rain gets louder
Loud footsteps
EMILY:
(Shivering) Oh my God, its so cold. How do I
get out of here? Am I dreaming, is this a
dream? Where are those noises coming from? Is
somebody there?
SOUND
Clap of thunder
Soundtrack gets louder and reaches a
Crescendo.
Inhuman voices get louder and reach to a
Crescendo
Footsteps stop
EMILY
What the? Who are you?
DOPPELGANGER
Emily Emily
EMILY
Tell me who you are! You cant be me! Im me!
DOPPELGANGER
Emily Im Emily
EMILY
Youre not me! You may look exactly like me
But youre not me!
SOUND
Clap of thunder
Loud footsteps

No get away from me!

Alarm clock ringing
Scene 2: INT BEDROOM - MORNING
SOUND:
Birds chirping
EMILY is extremely confused about what just happened in her dream
after she has just woken up. She is unsure as to whether or not the
dream she had was symbolic to any events that will occur in the
future or if it was just a nightmare.
EMILY:
(Gasping) what was that? She looked exactly like
Me. What did she want from me?
JANET who has no idea of the dream Emily had is just proceeding with
her everyday routine.
JANET:
Emily! Are you up yet? Youre going to be late
For school!
EMILY:
Ok! (Runs and opens the bedroom door and slams
It behind her)
Scene 3: INT CAR MORNING
SOUND:
Car moving
Music playing in the background
EMILY sees her doppelganger as they drive past her on the way to
school.
EMILY:
(Panicked) Mum, did you just see that!
JANET:
(Confused) See what?
EMILY:
That girl! She looked exactly like me!
JANET:
No hunny I didnt. Im trying to concentrate on
The road.
EMILY:
Oh right, yeah sorry.
Scene 4: EXT SCHOOL ENTRANCE
EMILY:
Bye Mum, see you later!
SOUND:
Car door slams shut
People talking
Footsteps
EMILY walks up to the school entrance where she sees her friends
(ZOE and BEN) with somewhat confused and shocked facial expressions.
ZOE:
(Sarcastically)Didnt know you could teleport Em?
EMILY:
What?
BEN:
Em, we just saw you about 30 seconds ago and now
Youve just walked in again (laughs)
EMILY:
No you couldnt have, thats literally not
Possible, my Mum has just dropped me off
SOUND:
Spooky violin soundtrack
ZOE:
Youre funny but we just spoke to you, although
You looked really tired, your eyes were quite red
Plus you dont sound like you did now, you
Actually sound normal
BEN:
(Laughing) Babe, you cant fool us, you arent
High are you?
EMILY:
(Angrily) No BEN! Im not high and you didnt just
Speak to me coz I just got out the bloody car!
(Storms off and goes into school)
ZOE:
What the hell was that all about?
BEN:
No idea mate
Scene 5: INT SCHOOL CLASSROOM MORNING
SOUND:
EMILY:
People talking
So basically, what the protagonist is seeing is
Like another evil version of herself but she
Doesnt realise it?
BEN:
Yeah, pretty much. Apparently one of the queens,
Cant actually remember which one saw herself and
Died not long after.
EMILY:
So what like seeing yourself is like some sort of
Omen?
ZOE:
Pretty much
EMILY:
(Sounding in pain)What the?
BEN:
Em, you alright?
EMILY:
No, Ive got some ridiculous headache and its
Aching
BEN:
You want some pain killers?
EMILY:
No, its fine. Ill just got to the bathroom quickly
ZOE:
Yeah coz putting a wet paper towel on your head is
Gonna help
EMILY:
Just shut up (gets up and leaves)
SOUND:
Footsteps
Door opening
Door closing
Scene 6:
INT SCHOOL TOILETS MORNING
EMILY:
(Sounding ill) I really dont feel well, maybe
Putting a paper towel on my head wasnt gonna help.
And it makes me look like an idiot (peers into the
Mirror)
EMILY:
Were my eyes always that red? (Laughs)
I see why they thought I was high
SOUND:
Spooky sounds of high pitched violins
EMILY:
What the
Im not smiling
(Panicked) Im not smiling!
SOUND:
Distorted child laughing
EMILY:
Who are you!
What do you want from me!
SOUND:
Distorted childish laugh gets louder
EMILY:
(sobbing) I dont know what Ive done but cant you
Just tell me?
DOPPELGANGER:
You! Your life! Your soul!
SOUND:
Loud thump (EMILY hitting her head)
Scene 7:
INT EMILYS BEDROOM LATE AFTERNOON
EMILY:
What just happened? Was that real? I swear I
When the hell did I get home? How am I in my room?
SOUND:
EMILY:
Text message tone
Hi Em, sorry Im not in to look after you, Ive
Been called back into work. Your teachers found you
In the school toilets and they called me in to come
And get you. Hope youre okay.
SOUND:
Scary soundtrack
EMILY:
Shes here
Shes coming, shes after me! Shell come through
The mirrors. The mirrors. Thats it! If I destroy
The mirrors she cant get me!
SOUND:
Footsteps
Mirror breaking
EMILY:
(Hysterically laughing) she cant get me now! She
Cant find me!
SOUND:

EMILY:
Open the door if you think youre finished with me.

EMILY:
Hello? Is anyone there?
SOUND:
Footsteps (heading downstairs)
EMILY:
Hello? Just come out! (Stutters) Im not scared of
You!

EMILY:
I can see you. (Gasps)

Creepy door opening

Footsteps going through grass/outdoor area

EMILY:
(shouts) what do you want from me? Why are doing
This?
SOUND:

Music reaches a crescendo
Struck of thunder
DOPPELGANGER:
Hello Emily.
EMILY:
(Screams)
SOUND:
Footsteps
Leaves rustling
DOPPELGANGER:
(Laughing) you cant keep running forever!
SOUND:
Footsteps continue
DOPPELGANGER:
(Laughing) what makes you think you can run away from
Me Emily! You cant run away from yourself! (Laughs)
SOUND:
Running
EMILY:
(Panting and whispers) I think shes gone
DOPPELGANGER:
(Whispers) dont be such a fool.
EMILY:
(Screams and fades out)
Scene 4: INT THE SMITHS LIVING ROOM EVENING
SOUND:
Television
JANET:
(Sounding concerned) Emily, is that you?
