Street lighting system are critical to the economic performance of the world
economy [1], and excessive or improper street lighting is currently responsible for a
significant waste of electrical energy in many cities worldwide [2]. Lighting system is
responsible for the consumption of approximately 30% of all electricity generated in the
world [3]. The smart street light system has several good points but it is difficult to
implement the smart street light system [4]. Using PLC ( Power Line Communication ) is the
easiest way to realize the smart street light and LED light is suitable in terms of cost [5] even
with higher investment costs, have the highest energy savings and ROI time [6].
The smart LED lamp operates for 5475 hours as compared to 3831 hours for an
ordinary LED lamp. This increases life of lamp 50% annualy. That means a lamp that would
operate for two years earlier would now operate for 3 years [7].
