7:00 7:10 Introductions and approval of minutes. Seward Square Apartments Conditional Use Permit and Variances - 2121 S. 9th Street Seward Square Apartments, a Section 8 apartment building serving disabled people, is applying for a conditional use permit to house a Development Achievement Center, which provides adult day care services in the building. Seward Square is also applying for two variances: one to provide adult day care services in a residential building and the other a variance in the parking requirements. The adult day care services will provide a variety of services to the residents of Seward Square, ranging from some health care, to assistance with personal hygiene, to educational opportunities and othe life enrichment. A public hearing on the request is scheduled for the Planning Commission meeting on Monday, September 19, at 4:30 p.m. 7:30 Proposed traffic calming measures on 34th Ave. between 24th and 25th. There are 23 kids on the block under the age of 13. Some of the parents have gotten together to support having traffic calming measures installed. They have a concept that 80% of the block has signed off on. They have met with Cam Gordon and Robin Garwood to pitch the concept and they will take it to public works. 7:45 Proposed amendment to the Minneapolis Zoning Code The purpose of the amendment is eliminate the conditional use permit application requirement for multiple-family residential uses with five or more dwelling units.
