Home Price Trends in Montgomery County

Median home sale prices in Montgomery County, Maryland have risen substantially from 1982 to 2007. The median sales price for all homes increased from $95,000 in 1982 to $495,000 in 2007, with detached homes generally selling at higher prices than attached homes or townhouses. Income levels in the county also increased over this period, from a median household income of $37,484 in 1982 to $95,494 in 2007, but not at the same rate as housing prices. Inflation rates, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, remained under 6% for most years shown.
