Main Oil Tank

The main oil tank stores and recycles oil for the lube and control oil system, collecting returned oil to be reused. It contains baffle plates and a strainer to remove particles and bubbles from the oil. The tank is equipped with equipment to extract vapors, measure and monitor the oil level, and has nozzles for draining and returning oil from the turbine lubrication and governing systems.

Main Oil Tank The main oil tank provides storage of oil for the lube and control

oil system . As the oil is returned back from the system , it collects back into the M.O.T. ready to be used again . The oil used for governing and lubricating the turbine returns to the M.O.T through the return oil inlet nozzle . Oil strainer and baffle plates are installed in the tank to remove any foreign particles and to avoid any bubble formation in the oil . The tank is provided with AC AOP , AC & DC EOP , oil ejector , two oil tank vapor extractor , oil level gauge and oil level switch . The tank oil level high and low are monitored on the DCS control room with alarms . The oil runs up between baffle plates and overflow to the oil pumps side . The oil tank drain nozzle is provided at the bottom of the tank .
