2008-2009 Memorial Spring Branch Rotary Weekly Programs - Member Instructions

Rules of the game
1. Each one of us is responsible for one week.
2. For your week, you can either speak or arrange a speaker, or a field trip.
3. If the assigned week is not convenient for you, swap your week with another Rotarian.
4. Let me know the details of your program at least a month ahead of time so I can publish it in the bulletin.
5. Rotary has a theme each month. The month's theme may influence your selection of speaker or topic.
6. If the assigned week is not convenient for you, swap your week with another Rotarian.
7. If you have more than one program idea, let me know so I can help the occasional Rotarian who may have trouble finding a
speaker.
8. My role is the program coordinator but the program itself remains your responsibility. You are responsible for staying in touch
with your speaker, getting him/her to the meeting and letting me know if there are any changes.
9. You also get to introduce your speaker.
10. I will maintain the "official" program schedule so there is no confusion or questions. Ask me for clarifications. Let me know if
you swap your week with another Rotarian.
11. If you have any questions or comments, please call me 713-303-9040 or email me raov@[Link]
Instructions to Speaker
1. Rotarians are open-minded and curious and generally find almost any topic interesting but do remember Rotary, as an
organization, is non-religious and non-political.
2. Prepare for a 20 minute presentation with a couple of minutes for Q&A.
3. 1:00 is the target finish time; some of us do have to get back to work!
4. If you need more time, let your host know so the President can start the formal portion of the meeting a few minutes early.
5. Please bring your own laptop and projector if you are going to need it. The club has a screen for projection.
Program Schedule on the back
1. If a week is colored, it means we are not meeting at the Racquet Club.
2. Gray indicates a holiday; no meeting.
3. Blue is an "extra" event - an addition to our weekly meeting (e.g. Pot-Luck Dinner).
4. Yellow means a Filed Trip - regular club meeting is at a different location.

See front page for the weekly program schedule and assignments
