STATISTICAL REVIEW OF GLOBAL LP GAS
INTRODUCTION
The World LP Gas Association (WLPGA) and Argus are delighted to welcome you to the 2012 edition of the Statistical Review of Global LP Gas. The review provides an insightful market overview and global comparative analysis. It offers the vital statistical context for the narrative of the LP Gas industry as it has evolved in challenging times and is acknowledged as a key resource for the LP Gas industry and especially for WLPGA members. This year the WLPGA celebrates its 25th anniversary and can look back on a period of unprecedented growth for a fuel that is found in every corner of the globe and in an astonishingly wide variety of applications. The statistics show how important petrochemical demand is for the LP Gas industry, but also how the residential and commercial sectors still have a vital role to play and how both sectors have stood up well to the economic malaise in OECD countries. During the past 25 years the LP Gas industry has seen significant growth and over the next few years even more growth is to come as LP Gas output rises. The 2011 statistics show clear evidence of changing LP Gas supply and demand fundamentals, as output surges from the Middle East and we see the beginnings of growth in US LP Gas production as a result of shale gas development. The future of the LP Gas industry remains an exciting proposition. The WLPGA and Argus have a longstanding relationship, and this is the inaugural collaboration on the annual Statistical Review of Global LP Gas.
