TRIAGE NURSING CASE SCENARIOS: (Seatwork and Demonstration) Prepare for the scenarios.

You have the right to choose your own actors/ actresses. EACH ONE must become a nurse. So everybody takes turn. Prepare for the demonstration with complete outfit, props, and the like. Be prepared. 1. A ship vessel to Mindanao suddenly sank off the waters of Sibuyan Island, seriously damaged by
the explosion of one of its machine in the lower deck area. Passengers of the vessel heard a loud blast and panicked immediately, running on the outside part of the vessel. Few have been injured. Nurse Marimar was on the vessel and heard the people screaming for help. She have seen injured people on the lower deck of the vessel. As a nurse, how would she perform triage on the following case scenario patients:

A 26 year old female, with burns on the right lower leg and head area. She is conscious, has dysarthria, and manifests difficulty of breathing. A 32 year old male, with right-sided weakness due to the incident, conscious, and shows inability to walk. A conscious, ambulatory 29 year old female. An 84 year old female patient, has profuse bleeding on right lower quadrant abdominal area, pulseless, and breathless. A 19 year old male, with a respiratory rate of 34, pulse of 24, and awake. 2. Javier family, celebrating the parents 25th wedding anniversary, planned a weekend escapade through a land trip going to Vigan. While theyre on their way, the 2 daughters and 2 sons of Mr. and Mrs. Javier played their favorite music and were happily trying to make a music television of it. Mang Kanor, the head of the family is the one driving for the trip. As he was enjoying the voices of his offspring, a text message arrived and he read it while driving. Suddenly, a black horse was seen crossing on the street by Mrs. Javier and shouted Stop the car!!!. Then as Mang Kanor looked into the road %$$(*(&%#!@BOOM!- their car hit the horse! As strong as usual, the horse managed to leave the scene, leaving the car of Javier family upside down. Anika, the eldest, is a registered nurse, even injured she managed to get out of the car to save her family. The following are what she saw: Daddy Kanor, with open fracture on right upper leg and a wooden stick on his abdomen. Shows difficulty of breathing. Mommy Dionisia, unconscious, with a broken glass on her neck and is bleeding profusely. Carlo, the youngest, is awake and disoriented and cannot follow commands. Has 38 respiratory rate and pulse rate of 58. Clarisse, the second, received a head injury, cyanotic, and no pulse. Cassie, the third, is conscious with good breathing pattern, has 2mm wound on right arm and 6mm wound of left lower leg, ambulatory.

GRAND CASE SCENARIO You have the right to choose your own actors/ actresses. EACH ONE must become a nurse. So everybody takes turn. Prepare for the demonstration with complete outfit, props, and the like. Be prepared. 3. An air plane bound to Iloilo slammed into a forest and ignited a huge fireball while trying to land to Cebu that injured most of its passengers, pilot, and crews of the vessel. Nurse Jamaica and Nurse Candy tried to help in the scene. The following scene as follows: 36 year old male passenger, with burns on half of his body, left arm removed from his body, with intestines out, pulseless and breathless. 8 year old female passenger with severe chest injury and shows signs of irritability, with loud cry, 82 year old grandfather with an extensive head injury, shouting I cant move!!! , unable to move, and has difficulty obeying commands 25 year old flight stewardess, got an ankle sprain, and has profuse bleeding on her stomach due to presence of a piece of steel punctured on it, shows decrease level of consciousness 48 years old male, seated at the back area, both feet wounded, ambulatory, a licensed first aider 37 year old male model, has wound on his face, crushed right knee under a plane chair, with respiration of 32 25 year old female, with skull fracture, keeps on vomiting, and vital signs unstable 15 year old female, with right above knee amputation due to the blower of plane hit her leg, site bleeding profusely 17 year old boy, with both arms severely wounded, ambulatory but cannot maintain balance 50 year old grandmother, exhausted, panicked, kept on shouting since her little finger, middle finger, and ring finger were removed from the accident, ambulatory and with good response to questions 22 year old female, can obey commands appropriately, with leg injury, cannot able to walk
