Be wise, immunise on time The Public Health Centre is promoting immunisation as part of World Immunisation Week (2228th April). Immunisations protect our tamariki against serious diseases, like whooping cough. They are vailable free from your primary health care provider. Free influenza vaccines are available now for eligible children up to 18 years and adults, i.e. those with a chronic medical condition such as asthma (using regular preventers), diabetes, heart/lung/kidney disease, cancer or immunity disorders; or aged over 65; and pregnant women. Free Boostrix vaccination is also now available for pregnant women. The Public Health Centre will offer free immunisations at school to Year 7s (Boostrix tetanus, whooping cough, diphtheria), in June; and for Year 8 girls, the cervical cancer vaccination starting in April. For anymore info or queries please contact your Public Health Nurse on 0274542064 No more noodles at school please. We have more and more children bringing noodles to be cooked at lunch time. It is taking up quite a bit of time to cook them and it is a hazard walking around with a plate of hot noodles. BOT Elections Start thinking about who you would like to nominate, or perhaps you are interested yourself in being a member of our school BOT. Nominations forms are available from the school office or can be downloaded from our web page. Nominations close Thursday May 16th 2013 Voting papers sent by Tuesday May 21st 2013 Voting Day Thursday May 30th 2013 All nominations are to be sealed in an envelope and handed in to the school office no later than Thursday May 16th. Help Needed: The Waiouru Triathlon has been postponed to Friday 31st May - this is because our main organiser is helpless and on crutches. We will still need help on the day.
