Microorganisms: 8th Grade Science Guide

Microorganisms are tiny organisms that can only be seen under a microscope. They include unicellular organisms like bacteria and viruses, as well as multicellular organisms. Viruses are not considered living and contain DNA inside a protein coat. Bacteria are found everywhere and come in different shapes. While some microorganisms can cause diseases or spoil food and materials, others are useful in producing foods like yogurt and cheese or aiding soil fertility.
