PS3 3K3y 400x Installation Guide

This document provides installation instructions for installing a 3K3y PS3 400x adapter onto a PS3 Superslim motherboard. 3K3y PS3 400x Installation Manual

1. Remove the main PCB from your PS3 Superslim. Locate the four SATA bus capacitors

3. !it the 3"3# Super Slim adapter to the PS3 PCB

Illustration !: Install the 3"3# A$apter Center the cut out in the 3"3# adapter over the pads for the SATA Bus capacitors. Ali$n the pads %ith the solder points A&'. (hen you are satisfied %ith the ali$nment solder the )*+ pad to the ad,acent capacitors -blac. line/ &Solder points A&' to their respective SATA Bus capacitor pads. &Solder a %ire from the 01 pad to the top of the t%o capacitors -red line/ &Solder the 3"3# main PCB po%er cable to the 01 -red %ire/ and )*+ -blac./ pads &Solder a %ire from the L2+ point on the adapter to the centre pin of the cover s%itch connector

3. 2nstall The !!Cs

0. Refit The 'S! 8 Top Shieldin$

9. Route the 6SB !!C 5ut of the PS3:s case

7. 2nsulate the PS3 ;etal%or.

Illustration 11: Insulate the (S3 2etal)or3 Cover the metal shield %ith an insulatin$ material. 7A. Testin$ Before fully reassemblin$ your PS3 it is a $ood idea to test your installation. The 3"3y !!Cs are lon$ enou$h to allo% the PS3 to be reassembled %hile still allo%in$ access to the 3"3y main PCB. Replace the PS3 PS6< po%er s%itch< cover s%itch and B+ drive mechanics. Tape the cover s%itch in the do%n position< this simulates the cover in the closed position. Po%er up the PS3 and observe L=+1. See Appendi> A for an e>planation of the dia$nostic codes. &2f the 3"3y indicates Passthru mode chec. the cover s%itch is taped do%n correctly and repeat the test. &2f the 3"3y indicates =mulation mode then the installation has been successful.

1A. Reassemble the PS3 Replace the PS3 PS6< B+ drive sled 8 plastic top cover. 11. !it the 6SB Adapter
