ROSE: But that's the point, Jim. We're right here.
MARSHALL: I wish it were that easy... I'll make it up to you, I promise.
ROSE: I should trust that promise? Because you know that voters are still
waiting for that middle class tax cut.
MARSHALL: This promise isn't subject to Congressional approval.
to miss somebody extrañ ar, echar de menos a alguien
to wish desear. En este caso se utiliza para expresar algo que se desearía
fuera cierto, equivale a 'ojalá '. Por lo tanto, se usa el verbo to wish
seguido de subjuntivo (igual que la forma pasada). Por ejemplo, I
wish you were here (Ojalá /Desearía que esuvieras aquí).

to trust something confiar en algo. Notar que no se utiliza preposició n después del
verbo. Trustful es 'confiado', trustworthy significa 'digno de
confianza' y untrustworthy es 'de poca confianza'.

MARSHALL: Look, lady, I don't have time for games. Just put the...
SWITCHBOARD: Thank you for calling the White House.
MARSHALL: No, no, no. Wait. Wait.
