Paul Renner Wins First Coast Tea Party Straw Poll with 56% of the Vote
Jacksonville, Fla. Republican Candidate Paul Renner today announced that he won the straw poll at
the First Coast Tea Party event this past Saturday, July 19, 2014, by 56 percent of the vote for his
campaign for Florida House District 15.
I want thank all those who participated in this event and support our campaign for the Florida House,
said Renner. I remain humbled by the outpouring of support we have received as the candidate of
choice for conservative voters. The straw poll results released today are indicative of the building
momentum for our campaign and the conservative principles on which it is based.
I enjoyed spending time with the First Coast Tea Party and delivering my message of commonsense
conservative leadership to promote economic growth and good paying jobs, while combatting
government overreach and excessive regulation. Like the oath I took in the military, in everything I do,
I will protect and defend our Constitution that limits government and protects our liberty.
Since launching his campaign to represent Florida House District 15, which includes the western part of
Jacksonville, Renner has received the endorsements of U.S. Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL), State
Senator John Thrasher (R-St. Augustine), Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford and JAXBIZ, the
political arm of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
Renner was raised in Jacksonville and is a graduate of Davidson College and the University of Florida,
Levin College of Law. He served 23-years in the U.S. Navy on both active duty and in the reserves,
including deployments in support of combat operations during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and in
Afghanistan in 2011. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy
Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal, among others. He also served as an assistant state
attorney, earning a strong reputation for his successful efforts to prosecute serious felony offenses.

Renner is an attorney and partner at Milam Howard Nicandri Dees and Gillam, P.A., where he
represents many local businesses. He is active in the community and has served as President of the
Jacksonville Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society and as General Counsel to the Duval County
Republican Party. He also participates in a number of civic and professional organizations, including
his Rotary and the Westside Business Leaders Association. Paul attends Southpoint Community
Church and he and his wife reside on the Westside.
