TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Student Teaching (5th grade) Winskill Elementary School
March 2015-June 2015
I am currently student teaching at Winskill Elementary School in Lancaster, WI. I am using their
reading program, Journeys and their math curriculum, Expressions. Unlike my other placement,
there are two other 5th grade teachers I collaborate with for lesson planning so that all 5 th grade
classes are in sync.
Student Teaching (Kindergarten) St. Clement School
January 2014-March 2014
My first placement was at St. Clements School in Lancaster, WI. I was there during the 3 rd quarter
of the school year. In my kindergarten class, I experienced creating my own math units based on
the needs of my students. I learned and used their reading and writing program, Superkids.
Student Teaching (Early Childhood) Aldine, Texas
January 2015
I completed my early childhood student teaching in Aldine, Texas at the Hinojosa EC/PK Head
Start Center. I co-taught with a peer of mine and we worked on gross and fine motor skills, music,
play, art, math, and reading. We created a writing center for our classroom to go along with the
multiple subject centers which were already in place.
University of Wisconsin-Platteville Childrens Center
Jan. 2013-Dec. 2014
Working with children ages two to nine years of age as a Teachers Assistant. My responsibilities
include playing with the children, helping them become more independent, setting up meal and
snacks for the class, changing diapers, laundry, and doing any tasks the teachers asked of me (ex.
working on art projects for them).
Potosi Vacation Bible Summer School
Summer 2009-Present
The first few summers I aided the teacher who was in charge of arts and crafts. I helped prepare
the supplies for each age group. The last two summers Ive aided the children with other aids by
receiving them from parents, taking them to each center, helping them in their centers, and then
returning them back to their parents. Summer 2014, I became the lead teacher for the three and
four year olds. I had to come up with the lesson plans for each day, which included a story,
outside activity, art activity, and a video.
Babysitter
February 2009-Present
I usually babysit in the summers and weekends for various families with children who range from
preschool to fourth grade. I care for them by playing, feeding, and supervising them. I also
transport them to school, home or anywhere else they need to go.
Tutor (Potosi Elementary School)
September 2008-Present
In high school, I have tutored and worked with children in elementary (pre-k 5 th grade). I was
the teachers assistant. I had to prepare worksheets, projects etc. I quizzed students, worked on
improving their reading skills, helped them learn in mathematics, and would be in charge of
centers during class. For the last six summers I have worked and volunteered with various
elementary and middle school teachers during their summer school program. As previously stated
up above, Ive done similar jobs in the summer.
Family Advocates Youth Group
February 2013-December 2013
I worked with children who ranged from infant to high school. The children Ive worked with
have dealt with emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. For the infants, I had the role of a
caregiver; playing, feeding, changing, etc. For the older children, I educatde them and gave them
the skills they needed to be a better person, and how to deal with their situations. (ex: they can
talk to us (volunteers, mentors, etc.), how to get or find help, how to relieve anger and/or stress in
an appropriate manner).
Wisconsin Badger Camp
Summer 2013
I volunteered for childrens week at Wisconsin Badger Camp. I was an aide to a counselor. We
had four main girls to care for, help them wake up, get dressed, eat, and guide them to the
activities which were provided. We of course cared for the other campers if need be.
OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE
Orchard Manor
August 2011-July 2013

elderly. This responsibility included giving them showers, making sure they were comfortable
and presentable. I would take them to therapy, getting them up and dressed in the morning,
feeding, and helping them in any other way.
