Brief description of project

The speed of creating new product for the market is one of the most important
factors that will determine the success or failure of a company. Our company introduced
new innovative power supply system, called BOP-E Series Ethernet control power supply
system, to the market.
Recently our company signed a contract for installation Ethernet- control power supply
systems in NYU laboratory. Customer specifies the requirements and chooses one of our
products from kepcos standard catalogue. NYU need 5 units of Ethernet control power
supply systems to be installed and successfully tested. The duration decided for this
project is 2 weeks. And the price for this project is 37,950.

Benefit of the product

Kepco's new BOP-E Series of Ethernet-controlled power supplies system are High
technology with innovative design, ultra-quiet ,controllable from anywhere over Ethernet
or LAN. Communication is either through a web page or by using SCPI commands via
Lab View and Telnet.

System Specification:

True 4-quadrant programmable voltage and current power supplies.

14 Standard Models, 0-5 Volts to 0-200 Volts, 0-5 Amps to 0-30 Amps.
Dual-range, 16-bit interface provides 15 bits of resolution for both full and quarter
scale of output.

Inductive load and capacitive load optimized versions.

Discovery: MDNS (Bonjour - like the printer discovery) and VXI-11 (National
Instruments Ni Max, Agilent Io controller)

IP address support: DCHP, AUTOIP and Static IP (using Web Page)Connections:

SOCKET @ port 5025 and TELNET @ port 5024, throughput: 25 milliseconds

The scope management plan ensures clarity by conducting face-to-face meetings with stakeholders to gather information about their interests and requirements. This plan specifies goals such as completing the project within the set deadline (August 18) and budget, and achieving customer satisfaction with the end product, aligning all project activities to these objectives .

The quality management plan aims to improve project outcomes by implementing the organization's quality policy, which includes conducting weekly meetings to address difficulties, requiring daily progress reports, utilizing quality control procedures, and issuing Engineering Change Notices if necessary. These strategies are designed to reduce rework, increase productivity, decrease costs, and enhance stakeholder satisfaction .

The project initiation phase identifies challenges such as a tight 2-week timeline and the need to assign certified professionals at the right time. These are addressed through meticulous planning of project activities, scheduling to ensure goals are achieved, and allocating resources effectively to avoid bottlenecks in execution .

Risk communication within the project involves regular updates and meetings between the project manager and team to discuss potential risks, their impacts, and mitigation strategies. This approach ensures that risks are identified early, allowing for timely adjustments to project plans. The transparency and proactive management foster a shared understanding and swift response to issues, enhancing project resilience .

The communication management plan outlines several strategies, including weekly face-to-face or email meetings with NYU, daily interactions between the project team leader and the project manager, and regular updates to the CEO about cost and schedule performance. These strategies ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle .

The BOP-E Series Ethernet-controlled power supply systems offer several benefits including high technology with an innovative design, ultra-quiet operation, and control capabilities from anywhere over Ethernet or LAN. The communication can be done through a web page or using SCPI commands via Lab View and Telnet .

Technology facilitates project management by providing tools for project monitoring, such as Ethernet-controlled power systems that enhance control and communication. Configuration and communication software support the installation and testing processes, and various software tools aid in managing data and making informed decisions efficiently .

The project outlines several contingency plans for identified risks. For instance, a 5% probability risk of product quality failure has a backup system in place. Labor shortages and poor resource quality with a 10% probability are mitigated with high wage offerings. Stakeholder requirement changes are managed by closely monitoring their needs to realign the project progress. For late deliveries, alternative suppliers are identified, and tool failures are covered by having backups. Load shedding is addressed by purchasing a generator, which illustrates comprehensive contingency planning .

The human resource plan impacts project execution by organizing, managing, and leading the project team effectively. It assigns clear roles and responsibilities, such as altering management plans for the project manager and overseeing labor work for human resources. This organized approach supports efficient task execution, budget control, and quality checks, essential for the timely delivery of project milestones .

Organizational process assets greatly impact the project's implementation by standardizing procedures and guidelines that enhance efficiency. These assets include product histories, installation procedures, safety policies, and testing protocols, which help streamline tasks and ensure that activities are performed with consistency and quality. Such structured frameworks contribute to optimal resource utilization and project success .
